  • No-Backswing Swing

I have back problems, and I have always had trouble making a good backswing.

So this season, I am going to eliminate the backswing altogether!

Read this article about 3 years ago and really thought it would catch on --- bunch of guys at the club i was at then started doing it but we all stopped except a guy that was a very good hitter in baseball and he still plays like this today -- could not feel the flow --it felt too mechanical

Try this. It is great for playing with a bad back. It has the normal flow without the stress on the body. Testing done for a PHD thesis showed that there is no loss of distance.

Aim at nothing and you will hit it every time.

Not sure this will eliminate the "backswing". When it talks about pumping your arms and turning right at the top - that is essentially the part of the backswing that creates the stretch and the torque. Without that, there is very little power.

OK I'm confused. I watched the video. The instructor isn't saying start in the 3\4 position is he? Isn't a fundamental rule in golf that you have to address the ball in the first place? Then when you take it back, voila, it's the backswing and the 70% of errors, so he says, occur.

Please help me out here. I'm a little foggy on this one.

              Bad idea bites the dust

Went to the driving range this morning, can not hit the ball at all this way!

Ah well, back to the drawing board.

the change in direction is fairly important for creating and transferring energy.

                whats wrong with your back?
