  • RV Golf Resorts

Just returned from renting an RV with the wife and driving from Phoenix to LA with some golf along the way. What a great trip. In addition to watching some practice holes at the Waste Management Open, playing PGA West Stadium Course and Torrey Pines, South Course, (spectator stands were still up at both), I played Talking Sticks in Phoenix where I was paired up with a Golf Digest Top 100 panelist, Desert Dunes in Palm Springs where Grant Fuhr, ex Oilers' goalie, is the director golf) and Journey at Pechanga in Temecula, CA, which is also the reason for this new thread:

On a whim, we pulled into the Journey at Pechanga RV Resort to see if they had any spots open. They did and what a place. Aside from a fully equipped RV resort with all the hook-ups including wifi, they have the largest casino in California along with a very large hotel and fantastic on site 18 hole golf course. Upon registering and spending approximately 7.5 minutes hooking up utilities on the campsite, I was picked up by the resort shuttle and taken to the golf course for a round before supper on the campsite. With regard to camping and RV'ing, I have never heard of, or seen anything like this before but it got me to thinking that this can't be the only place.

Anyone know of other similar RV / golf resorts?

Haven't been to either one but Pike Lake is always at the golf show and also at the RV show and fairly close to you.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing but in Palm Desert there are whole blocks dedicated to rv parks with short executive style courses. We rented a house near one in Indio this winter.

My wife and I are looking at renting an rv in California and driving up the coast to vancouver next winter.

Wildwood is in my area - although have never been or played it. Another one similar to this in the Windsor - Essex area is Rochester Place (along Lake St. Clair)

We always take our golf clubs with us when we go RVing. We have a 1977 vintage 24' Airstream Argosy trailer. There is always a golf course close by somewhere. Pike Lake is a more permanent mobile home unit site. They only have 20 or 30 over night sites and they aren't that great. Something like Six Foot Bay Resort in Buckhorn, permanent mobile home units and very little over night sites.
