I am not sure what your plans consist of if it is 100% a golf trip you can look into and book directly with any of these that all offer unlimited golf packages
        1. Omni Orlando Champions Gate (2 Greg Norman Courses) - I did this in September for a week and had a blast
        2. Reunion Resort 3 courses, (Palmer, Watson, Nicklaus) - Next one I plan to do
        3. Grand Cypress 45 holes all done by Nicklaus

If your doing a family trip mix of golf and other Orlando attractions; Disney is a great option, ppl often think it is over priced but it is actually pretty reasonable considering everything included. - With Disney you wont need a rental car free transport to and from the courses

These guys have a great selection of houses and townhouses near Disney.

If I was going to Orlando I would avoid the Disney area which is a constant traffic nightmare. Check out the Lake Mary / WinterPark area Number of very good courses lots of restaurants minimal crowds and save $$$$ you can also fly into Sanford airport for way less money. Book golf on GolfNow or direct with the courses.

I'm heading there in March for a family trip doing the exact same thing, staying right across the street from the Palm and Magnolia. I also plan to play Lake Buena Vista as well. Do you have any insight for the cheapest way to play? The only deal I saw was paying full rate for the first round, then 20% off the 2nd round, 30% off 3rd round to a max of 40% I think.

Are you staying at a Disney Resort?

until 2017 anytime we went it was included as part of the package/meal plan . In 2017 they removed it from the meal plan and were instead doing a pass for x #rounds for resort guests, it was a bit of a break but not as much value when it was incld with the meal plan. That is why in 2019 we went to ChampionsGate instead.

If you are staying at a Disney resort call Walt Disney Golf directly (WDW-Golf) and see if they have a resort guest option.

If you are not at the resort you can book last minute (2-3 days out) at the Disney golf website and save pretty big, if I recall it can drop as low as $50/$60. You use to be able to use GolfNow as well but I haven't checked.

We're staying at the Polynesian which is a premium Disney resort. We've booked on GN in the past, but it's usually a tee time that doesn't work. My problem is that this is a "family vacation" so I need to play first thing in the morning. I called the Disney booking line and they only advised me of the deal I mentioned originally (play more, save more). Problem is the rack rates are like $125 USD/Round, so I'm still going to be paying a hefty amount to play 4-5 rounds while I'm there.

Yes what we were told the last time we went in 2017 was since it was taken over by Arnold Palmer Group to handle the prices went up,

Maybe what you could try is book to secure your AM spots, but the week prior (or within cancellation time) check if you can get a lower rate. I know in 2017 when we were debating the pass or booking direct prices got as low as $60 a few days before.

Yes, you are, especially if you're going anytime soon. The Palm Course is the only one I haven't played, but it's supposed to be the best Disney track.

But there are plethora of courses all within 20 minutes of Disney that are way cheaper. GolfNow has most of the public courses listed, so have a look there first. And even cheaper and better golf north and west in the Clermont area.

Maybe search TGN "Orlando" as we've posted a bunch of golf course reviews over the years. I just got back from there and still writing my comments on the rounds I played. One of the funnest rounds was at the hilly (mountainous) Sanctuary Ridge. Way cool, but terrible conditions. Thought I was gonna roll my cart three times, and I was stone cold sober.

My wife and I always stay at Reunion https://bit.ly/2HudTFP and had a 5 bedroom house/pool for two weeks this time. About $100/night vs $150-$200++ for a Disney area hotel. I get the Disney thing with the family, but if that can be avoided, booking a private condo or house through VRBO or similar is way, way cheaper. And honestly, a better experience especially if you have kids. Yes, we found Disney accommodations to be a chore with my kids.

Sometimes my wife and one of my (now adult) kids will stay at Disney for a couple of nights, and then move to private house NEAR Disney for the rest of the week. You still get the Mickey Mouse experience, but honestly, after a couple of nights in a claustrophobic Disney room, over priced food, screaming, crying, yelling kids... the serenity of your own house, own kitchen and private pool is definitely welcomed. Hence the vacation homes boom in Kissimmee.

I'd be all for trying different tracks, which is what we usually do. Problem is my FIL will probably skip golf this time around which leaves me playing by myself. Since it's a family vacation (with young kids) I don't want be gone all day, we won't even have a rental car this time so my options are very limited. As expensive as it's going to be, my best chance to play as much as I want is sticking to the Disney courses, which are 30 seconds away from the resort with free transportation.

And yes, the Palm is BY FAR the best of the 3. I might even choose to play there every round, I played 9 at Magnolia last year and it wasn't great at all.

We go with my young kids, wife and in-laws. They've been staying at the Polynesian Resort for like 2 decades, we've tried to convince them to try somewhere new, but they like being on the monorail line so they can get to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot easily. We're only paying for our flights, so we don't have a lot of say in the matter lol.
