Hi Everyone,
I have been lurking for about a year and decided that I should finally join in on the fun. I have been bitten hard by the golf bug and can't get enough.
I started playing about 3 years ago when I played during one my good friend's bachelor party. I shot a dismal 121 and had a banana slice that would make anyone cringe but my irons were pretty straight. I enjoyed the fun so when it came to my own bachelor party I played on the Battlefield at the Legends on Niagara. Got a little better and shot a 118. I now wanted to buy my own golf set.
Went to SportChek at the Eaton Centre to see what they had. They had a very limited selection with only two full sets for Lefty players. I bought the PowerBilt TPS Triad2 that came with the bag, driver, 3W, 4H, 5H, 6-PW normally sold for $400 but they wanted to get rid of all the golf gear so he sold it to me for $150! A quick visit to Golf Town and bought a set of three Adams Tom Watson RC14 wedges.
I was adamant in getting better as I am an athletic person so I took some lessons and just hacked around on the golf course and driving range at the Docks. I didn't even bother using my driver most of the time as it sliced but I could hit my 3W straight. After several lessons from Mike at the Docks I was able to get it to slightly fade or have a draw.
I bought a Cobra Fly-Z driver and a Nike Method Core 3i putter to replace my PowerBilt ones. I was so confident with my new clubs. All this culminated to my best score of 88 at Humber Valley! I finally broke 100 and 90 and got my first birdie!
Now the Golf Town clearance happened so I picked up an Ogio stand bacg and bought a matching set of Cobra Fly-Z irons and a Fairway wood. The 3-4W, 2-3H and 3-4H have adjustable lofts so that I can make them stronger or weaker but decided to keep them in the middle.
I'm now glad to finally be a part of TGN!
