As to the e-mail in question, Alwaleed Bin Talal wasn't just a shareholder, he was at the time (not sure if he still is) the largest individual shareholder in Citigroup. Shareholders definitely influence decisions made by corporate executives, especially their largest shareholders.

If you think it's inconceivable that a company's largest shareholder would have close relations with a chief executive of a division within the corporation... I don't know what to say.
Talal holdings in Citigroup in and around 2008 amount to 3.5-5% of the company. While he may be the largest current single shareholder, it's hardly a majority. Can find no record of him being on the board of Citigroup. Froman and Obama knew each other from Harvard going back to the 80's. Because Talal owns Citigroup does not mean he used Froman to attempt to influence Obama. wikileaks simply released the email. Your conspiracy came from various other sources. Here is a respected source talking about the release of that email.

    Wow, no conspiracy.

      partial quote

The Navy task force is backed up by B-52 nuclear-capable heavy bombers now stationed in Qatar, and US warplanes from other bases in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Turkey, Jordan, and Pakistan that effectively surround Iran. The carriers are just for show and threat.

Israel, which is eager to see the US attack Iran, has helpfully provided ‘intelligence’ allegedly showing that Iran is planning to attack certain US installations in the Mideast. Interestingly, Israel and its American supporters did the same thing in 2001 and 2003, pushing the US to attack its foe Iraq. Washington largely relied on Israeli intelligence about Iraq since its own resources were so weak – and senior Bush administration neocons kept touting the claims from Israel.

President Trump sees himself as an emperor besieged by Washington Lilliputians. There’s nothing like a jolly little war to shut up all his critics and garner media support. Even better, the ‘bad guys’ in this case are ‘Eye-ranian’ Muslims. Trump’s religious base would thrill at the prospect of pounding the Islamic Republic. During the Bush administration years, over 80% of so-called ‘born again’ Christians backed war against Iraq. What happened to ‘turn the other cheek?’

This administration’s neocons have made it their life’s work to destroy Iran, which is considered Israel’s only serious enemy and a champion of the Palestinian cause.
The Trump administration has largely fallen under the influence of Israel’s hard right in foreign and military affairs. So Bolton and Pompeo are clearly trying to engineer an incident that would spark war.

During the election: "Trump is going to start WW3!"

Now: "Why hasn't Trump confronted Putin on the world stage and started WW3?"

The desperation to get Trump is fun to watch.

            • Bluster and Fluster is indeed a pre-election vote garnering device. Show the voters you are a man of action, decisive, fearless, a man to be reckoned with, a man with spurs.
It got an asthmaticTheodore Rooseveld elected.

                  • Trump Jr. is going to appear (again) before the Senate Intel Committee, presumably to clarify his earlier testimony regarding the June 2016 meeting with Russians as well as his participation in the Trump Moscow project.

No doubt that over the next few days we're going to hear the phrase "perjury trap" quite often from Trump et al.

                        • Ok so the 120,000 troops to Iran story is now fake news....onto to the next distraction....shocking

President Trump was asked if he was planning to send 120,000 troops to the Middle East in response to Iran, which was reported by the New York Times. Preside...

                          • The Monroe Doctrine has been the key piece of American foreign policy for 200 years. The Cuban Missile Crisis erupted over it.

NATO has been the cornerstone of American influence/power in Europe (including Turkey) since the end of WWII. It ensured the preservation of democracy in Europe and counterbalanced the Soviet threat.

American military power guaranteed the existence of South Korea and Taiwan.

Now in just 2 years, the POTUS has stood by and 1) allowed Russian troops (advisors) to land in Venezuela, 2) has publicly insulted his NATO allies and called into question the ongoing existence of the alliance, 3) increased the credibility of the North Korean dynasty by meeting with its current dictator and engaged in a tariff war with China.

America's allies are now questioning America's ability/willingness to support them, thus providing both Russia and China the opportunity to increase their spheres of influence.

yeah but he's been battling that heel spur impediment.

                              • There's no need to desperately try to get Trump. He's quite successful at doing that all by himself.
