NFL Playoffs 2018

As a Falcons fan, it became obvious last year that in order to be the Patriots, a team has to play well for an entire 60 minutes. One half of good or even great football is not enough.
The Jaguars were not able to learn from Atlanta's mistake last year, and we'll just have to wait to see if the Eagles were able to learn anything going into this final game.
As much as I hate to admit it, after what happened last season, the Patriots are certainly an impressive team. There is an attitude among many of 'anyone but the Pats'. However, when they play the way that they do, they certainly deserve their wins. They're not being handed anything...they earn their W's.

Got to hand it to the Pats to win without Gronk.
Unfortunately, the refs also assisted them like usual.
1 penalty all game! None for the Amendola head butt?!?
They also essentially screwed up the Jack fumble recovery by blowing it dead. There was no need to blow the whistle. The play should have continued and then Jack would have likely scored a TD (as he was never down....he had not gained the recovery until he was away from Lewis).
Oh well....plus ca change....

My Vikes are done. Not even close. The Eagles outplayed them in every way. Sometimes making big plays can get you a win. Eagles made those too. Re the Pats, you have to stick a fork in them. A couple of drives that don't lead to at least a field goal or kill a lot of clock and they make you pay. Brilliant to be able to do this over such a prolonged period of time.

Jacksonville's all round poor play, bad decision making and crappy execution with the ball with 2:30 left in the first half was the turning point IMO. JJ first and ten on the Pats side of the field looking to put more points on the board turned into giving up 7 the other way just before halftime.

Ramsey and Bouye were probably committing fouls on most contested plays. The Pats certainly served up the trash-talking Ramsey a steaming hot cup of STFU.
That being said, he is a better player than any defensive player on New England and certainly a better athlete/player than Cooks.
You mention that the Jags were committing fouls on most contested passes. Thoughts about the Amendola head butt? Thoughts about how many times Campbell and Jackson were held during the game?
As a fan of the game, I hope the refs are not biased in Minnesota and not calling 40 yard PIs...
I expect NE to win given that Foles can’t likely replicate his performance yesterday.

Last year, a certain faction of fanatics appealed to the NFL to change the name of the trophy, if not outright to the Belichick then to at lease hyphen it to the Lombardi-Belichick. Wont ever happen with Goodell at the helm. But who knows after this year for the consideration in the future. I like it myself"I never answer the phone; there maybe someone on the other end!" Re: officiating in any sport, I've never been a huge fan of "Put away the whistle and let them play". IMO, it should be "See it, call it and players will adjust or lose". An advantage will always go to the team that can toe the line but the game shouldn't be won by the team that commits the most fouls. Otherwise, they might as well be playing Rollerball (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollerball_(1975_film)).WITB: clubs, balls, tees, Advil and a candlestick (just in case)
