  • Why the devil do you have voicemail?

About twice a day I'll return someone's phone call and leave a voice mail with the answer to their question and they invariably call back and say they just missed my call. I ask if they listened to my message and they say no! AAARRRGHH.

If the call was placed <5min ago I'm not listening to the VM. Guilty as charged.

Anything more than that I'll listen before (maybe) returning the call.

Yep, quicker just to call back if I just missed it.

I don't have VM on my cell for that exact reason. You can text me or call me back if it's important.

"Dailey don't text". To steal a phrase from one of my favourite 'bad' movies.

People still use phones as phones?

If I leave a message, it's just to say that I'm calling, and request a call back. I don't leave detailed info for just that reason.

Voicemail is dead. If you need me, send a txt.

If I miss someone, I send a text. More likely to be picked up, and I know I prefer to receive them instead of VM.

I much prefer a voice mail over a text. Texting is for very quick messages, like telling someone I'm running late. Anything longer leave a vm.

email if office related, text if personal matter. VM is so yesterday...

except most hate a long vm too. If its long and important, use a email. If its really really important and urgent, keep calling until I answer my phone...
