Your numbers are pretty outdated. Florida has averaged 10-20 deaths a day for the last week. They got the message about vaccines and their situation improved dramatically. They are at almost 58% fully /68% 1 dose. Not that far behind Canada at 71%/76%.

Doesn't change the conclusion, just updating with newer info. Too much news here focuses on things going badly down there...not enough when things improve.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers but the NY times indicates 240 deaths per day based on a 7 day average as of Oct 13th. Thats with acouple of days of 0 reported deaths. Yup, its still bad.

Of course though, only if you have enough of the Pfizer jab. If you don't then the science says to continue using Moderna because the benefit still outweighs the risk. I love science.

You fail to answer the question when there is conflicting science. Just like golf there is more than one way to do things.

So Iceland stopping Moderna and other Nordic countries limiting the use of Moderna- what's the science saying? If all was known beforehand, then no countries would be stopping any jab, but they are so what does this mean?

Please explain why this doesn't justify caution, especially for segments of the population are at low risk?

Most likely, you'll have no comments, just like when Ontario decided to not give Moderna to young men. If health authorities here and around the world are making changes on the fly, this tells you everything you need to know and that we're still in the experimental phase. Doesn't matter how you label it but actions speak louder then words and making changes as we go is exactly how a real-time experiment looks like.

This is one way of doing things- no covid tests if you're double jabbed, recently infected or under 6. Good way to reduce your numbers or reduce fears due to rising numbers and get back to normal. Will it work? Only time will tell...

As of yet, there is no decision on mixed vaccines. If you received a full regimen of any vaccine on the WHO list, even though it's not approved in the US, you're good (ie AstraZenica)

WWFS answered about the mixing. Right now Canadians do need a negative test to come back in.

We are moving back for good next week and need a negative PCR test (costing $160USD each) result 72 hours before our flight - even though we are both double vaxxed.

Yes that's kind of what I thought, wife was planning a two night shopping trip and might be able to get a test here before they leave for the US as they anticipate being les than 72 hours.

Fair, but even the NYT is currently reporting a 7 day average of about 180, which is well below the 350 number you suggested. I am just saying that we hear about bad news more than good news. Vaccination rates there are increasing and the situation is improving but you don't see many headlines about that. I only know because I'm heading there next month and have been keeping an eye on cases etc.
