Wasn’t that a side effect of them horse pills some peeps were taking - or was that infertility? I can’t remember but I did post the study findings at one point on this thread

Alas, in layman's terms, smoking weed or taking CBD oil does absolutely nothing to stop COVID. If there is a benefit, it comes in the form of acids such as CBD-A, and at high concentrations.

And stress is a known factor in reducing the protection offered by one's immune system, which is needed to help fight viruses

Logic and reasoning do not appear to be particularly important among the anti-vax crowd.

For example a significant number appear more than willing to allow someone with minimal training or oversight to inject ink into their bodies. Just how much 'research' have they conducted into the raw materials used in the ink, the hygeine practices of the 'artist', etc?

And as to the allegations that the COVID vaccine was 'rushed' what of the timeline for the 'discovery' and use of insulin? Surely our medical testing procedures are much improved from 100 years ago and therefore allow for reduced timelines?

In the spring of 1921, Banting traveled to Toronto to explain his idea to J.J.R. Macleod, Professor of Physiology at the University of Toronto.

On July 30 1921, Banting and Best successfully isolated an extract ("isleton") from the islets of a duct-tied dog and injected it into a diabetic dog.

On January 11, 1922, Leonard Thompson, a 14-year-old diabetic was given the first injection of insulin.

In November, Lilly's head chemist, George B. Walden discovered isoelectric precipitation and was able to produce large quantities of highly refined insulin. Shortly thereafter, insulin was offered for sale to the general public.

                      • More regarding the legality of mandatory vaccination policies in the workplace.

Howard Levitt, senior partner with Levitt Sheikh, says he suspects the courts will rule on the side of the employer in most instances.

“When all levels of government, all chief medical officers of health from coast to coast, and all of the serious members of the medical and scientific community say that the route to safety and getting out of the pandemic is through vaccinations, it is extraordinarily unlikely that a court will disagree and require the employer to pay wrongful dismissal damages if they fire the employee for refusal,” Levitt said.

“If these workers have to deal with other people, whether they be coworkers, customers, suppliers or members of the public, and the employer has a mandatory vaccination policy, the employees have a very weak case.”

Some employment lawyers say employees can make a strong case for wrongful dismissal if employers have not offered reasonable alternatives to termination, like working remotely.

“On one end of wrongful dismissal claims, you’re getting anti-science and anti-vaccine arguments. But on the other end, you’re getting more sympathetic, individual claims for exemptions or accommodations — circumstances where, for example, remote work options really are available but the employer is unwilling to go there,” said Danny Kastner, an employment lawyer and partner at Kastner Lam LLP.

It could be months, if not years, before the score of litigation over vaccine mandates is fully resolved.

“Realistically, I can’t imagine any of these cases getting to court before the summer,” said Elisha Jamieson-Davies, a lawyer with Hicks Morley LLP.

                        • Just announced (taken from The Truth About Cars) website the US Supreme Court splitting along political lines has 'blocked' Biden's mandatory vaccination or test policy for workplaces.

It appears that along with political leanings a major stumbling block was that a large number of state governments opposed it.

A divided U.S. Supreme Court has blocked the Biden administration’s vaccine-or-test rule that would have been enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and impacted roughly 1.7 million automotive employees.

“Although Congress has indisputably given OSHA the power to regulate occupational dangers, it has not given that agency the power to regulate public health more broadly,” the court explained. “Requiring the vaccination of 84 million Americans, selected simply because they work for employers with more than 100 employees, certainly falls in the latter category.”

The high court also doubted that the plan would have worked at all during numerous hearings, citing that 27 states had already issued formal opposition to OSHA’s plan to begin mandatory vaccination requirements for businesses. Their claim was that the proposed rules were unconstitutional and vastly exceeded the organization’s authority.

Judges decided to oppose the Biden Administration’s plan to give OSHA more authority, with three members of the court’s left wing (Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan) having dissented.

Though the Supreme Court did narrowly allow (5-4) a requirement that would require health care workers in facilities that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding to be vaccinated, pending further proceedings. This time it was the right-leaning members of the court (Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett) dissenting.

The Canadian side of the auto manufacturing sector actually began requiring vaccine proof just to enter the building.

Quebec , despite a lower vax rate than Ontario has implemented tougher mitigation measures which have been in place longer so perhaps they did a better job controlling it than we have

It does sound s though everyone will get Omicron at some point, not sure we are there yet. I still know way more people who have not had it than who have. Probably 90 percent have not yet.

I suppose that the other thing is, we are not going to be done with C19 after this wave, there may very well be other waves with Omicron and most certainly will be other variants of concern ...so the more vaxxed the better things will be for those.
I am more not than have as well but that is changing very fast.

I have spoken to three people today alone (and I've only spoken to 8) that I didn't know had it and they are now positive or have had it in the last three weeks. Many have family members that have it as well, and these are all careful people that work remotely right now and would be considered on the careful/very careful side of things. None have had significant symptoms but it obviously is still a little concerning to everyone. The worst had a family member with flu like symptoms, everyone else less and each one of those I spoke to didn't miss a day of work, although remote obviously.
