No, just the MAGA viewers. She is perfectly correct. There is no point in creating renewable energy if you cannot send it to some kind of accesible storage just as there is no point in drilling for oil if there are not enough storage tanks and refineries. Capped wells make no money as I witnessed when I lived in Oklahoma from 1983-85.

Wow, “perfectly correct”. That is pretty high praise indeed. It’s not like battery storage is new tech. It’s just expensive, dirty, and the materials are getting scarce. If she just equivocated slightly someone might believe.

            Apparently there's no 'explosion.'

He was taken out in a way similar to being stuck into a Vitamix blender.

So it’s pretty earth shattering stuff she’s saying. Why is it when she says it - it just sounds dumb. A total lightweight.

              • The Biden admin is filling in some gaps in the racist and ineffective border wall... the spin is absolutely amazing... they aren't actually building a wall, according to KJP.

When asked about the fact that walls work as a deterrent at a news briefing on Friday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jeane-Pierre said, “We are not finishing a wall. We are cleaning up the mess that the prior administration made. We are trying to save lives. This is what the prior administration left behind that we are now cleaning up.”

A quick history lesson would demonstrate that there is absolutely nothing 'unusual' about this. Just following a normal practice that is decades old. Wikipedia used as the source for both quotes.

The first barrier built by the U.S. was between 1909 and 1911; the first barrier built by Mexico was likely in 1918, and barriers were extended in the 1920s and 1940s.[16]

U.S. President George H. W. Bush approved the initial 14 miles of fencing along the San Diego–Tijuana border.[17] In 1993, President Bill Clinton oversaw initial border fence construction which was completed by the end of the year. Starting in 1994, further barriers were built under Clinton's presidency as part of three larger operations to taper transportation of illegal drugs manufactured in Latin America and immigration: Operation Gatekeeper in California, Operation Hold-the-Line[18] in Texas, and Operation Safeguard[19] in Arizona. Clinton signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, which authorized further barriers and the reinforcement of the initial border fence. The majority of the border barriers built in the 1990s were made out of leftover helicopter landing mats from the Vietnam War.[17]
Unlike the 'big, beautiful' and impenetrable wall that the TFG promised to have Mexico pay for and run from coast to coast.

The U.S. built new barriers along 455 miles (732 km),[6][7][8] 49 miles (79 km) of which previously had no barrier.[7][8] Much of the remainder consists of 30-foot-tall (9.1 m) steel bollard wall where previously there had been fencing or vehicle barriers.[6] Additionally, a private organization called We Build the Wall constructed under five miles (8 km) of new wall[9] on private property near El Paso, Texas. By August 2020, the portions constructed by the organization were already in serious danger of collapsing due to erosion, and the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York unsealed an indictment charging four people, including former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon,[9][10][11][12] with a scheme to defraud hundreds of thousands of donors by illegally taking funds intended to finance construction for personal use.[13

Thanks for the history lesson, you conveniently glossed over the fact that the Democrat party and the media for the 5 year period of 2015-2020 cried to the heavens about how the wall was racist and ineffective, the same people (as you highlighted) voted for border fencing for decades prior to 2016, and now in 2022 are completing construction of sections of the racist and ineffective border wall... all the while, proclaiming that they aren't in fact building a wall and are just cleaning up the previous administrations mess... the cognitive dissonance is amusing.

The cognitive dissonance exposed is primarily on the part of the supporters/defenders of TFG whose organization employed those who entered into the USA illegally (see the first link).

Or those who do not see the difference between the blatant falsehoods, repeated multiple times by TFG regarding his plans, and what is currently being done on the border.

                      From the article
The president (Biden) also returned $2.2 billion in border wall funds to the Department of Defense, which was reallocated to fund 66 projects in 16 countries, three U.S. territories, and 11 states.
So they are not to split hairs 'building a new wall'. But are 'closing a gap' in an existing area/wall that has seen increased traffic.

The reason that TFG received so much grief was that he continually made false claims about what he would/could do. There was no 'big, beautiful wall paid for by Mexico'. Nor would Mexico ever pay for his wall.

As for the reasoning behind building a wall, to a degree that is indeed racist/specious.

The amount of 'legal' traffic between the two nations means that smuggling cannot be stopped. Just like we in Canada cannot expect to stop the smuggling of illegal handguns into our country from the USA.

And rather than incarcerating 'illegal' migrants, the US government should instead start charging/incarcerating those who employ these workers illegally.

No jobs = no money = reduced incentive to move to the USA.

However doing this would cause 'wage inflation' and 'labour shortages' so big business/employer lobby groups would never agree to such changes.

TFG's campaign of misinformation around the border wall and illegal immigration can't be disputed, yet you continue to try. That you don't openly admit that the policy and rhetoric were openly racist is disgusting. Our disdain for the previous administration has been validated by the inevitable violent outcomes. That administration is already the most corrupt administration in the history of the USA, that is before all of the Jan 6th prosecutions have begun. Once complete prosecutions from the Jan 6th investigations will eclipse the numbers of previous convictions. Trying to shame the Biden administration over border wall repairs is indeed an exercise in cognitive dissonance.

"Can't be disputed"... lol, cmon Bern.. take a look at the graph below. Clearly talking nice isn't a solution, and in fact promotes border crossings...

The Biden admin 'attempted' to govern with a 'friendly' border approach. Land border encounters have increased from fewer than 500k in 2020 to in excess of 1.7M through 7 months of 2022. TFG's policy and rhetoric surrounding the border were successful in reducing illegal immigration.

                            The rest is 'whataboutism'.

My favourite part of the border crisis, is Democrat mayors of large American cities like DC and NYC complaining when Abbott decided to ship them the problem their party has created. The whack liberals expect border states/towns to accept hundreds of thousands of illegal border crossers every year, since Biden took office, they are expected to accept over a million border crossers... yet, Mayor Adams is "furious" that Abbott has sent a few dozen to NYC. Muriel Bowser says DC is at a "tipping point", after Abbot sent ONLY 5,000 illegal immigrants to DC. LOL... Democrats made their bed, now their mayors can sleep in it.

What in the world do border crossings have to do with corrupt administrations, specifically the Trump admin? You presented the fence completion issue as a moral failing of the Biden admin. I responded in that regard.

Well, actually it went up under TFG. There are many factors why we had this spike some admittedly policy related. The spikes below seem to correlate to recessionary periods, go figure. Please note the change in statistics after 2020 where the term encounters includes more.

What in the world does Jan 6th have to do with Biden's failure at the southern border?

Your graffic explicity stated at the top that the number of encounters in 2021 was a record, who was President?

From the far right CBS news:

                                https://www.cbsnews.com/news/despite...cord-for-june/

U.S. Border Patrol reported processing migrants 191,898 times along the southern border in June, a nearly 14% drop from May, when the agency carried out over 222,000 apprehensions, an all-time monthly high. The previous record for June was reported last year, when Border Patrol carried out 178,649 arrests.
From the far right NY Times citing apprehensions from June of 2018:

By comparison, monthly border crossings so far this year have ranged from 20,000 to 40,000 people.
20,000-40,000 per month in 2018 under Trump (which was an INCREASE from 2017).... 180,000-220,000 per month under Biden in 2021 and 2022... there is no way you can tell me that the change in definition from apprehensions to encounters can account for the 5x increase. Biden has been an abject failure on immigration, no matter which way you spin it. It turns out that the 'remain in mexico' policy was working...
