  • That new Masters tournament was fun. Interesting game play and nice to see the best of the best back again.

    • Agreed - its almost hard to watch the "regular" jeopardy now - the Master's blasted through the board and had an extremely high correct answer response rate....

Their solve percentage was crazy. There was one subject last night that stumped them on 3 I think, but man they have incredible recall.

        • I'm not gong to pretend to understand the betting strategy but if Mattea had bet $2K less she would have won and collected $500,000 (instead of $250,000). Great final match though.

            Agree. She misplayed that one.

Fortunately there are no rules limiting the number of golf balls you can carry during a match!

Just a slight correction there. They were playing for points not dollars, and the final difference was actually 2110 points.

              • Not sure why it won't let me add to the above post?
Which is they both played exceptionally well as they always do, but when it comes to those calculated gambles James is a master of that.
I believe the way Mattea bet was calculated, that if they were both correct or both wrong that the amount of points she wagered would give her the win, but she forgot about how far ahead James was from points gained from the first game, thus giving him the best total points..

Can't recall what James bet but it was also a random number & quite conservative by his standards. It was as if he knew he'd likely miss on the final jeopardy question.

Still an impressive finish for Mattea after squeaking into the final 3.

It was 119 points and knowing James's tactics that could have been strategy or somebody's birthday. LOL
Happy to see Mattea do so well, however I feel she got into the final 3 by a qwirky tie breaking rule.
They used most correct answers and she did have more, but Andrew won by about 15,000 more points meaning he answered a lot more of the difficult questions correct. Great for Mattea and Canada but I still think it was a dumb rule.
