Although Jewish law forbids Jews from raising or eating pigs, receiving a pig heart is "not in any way a violation of the Jewish dietary laws", says Dr Moshe Freedman, a senior London rabbi who sits on the UK Health Department's Moral and Ethical Advisory Group (MEAG).Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong, because sometime in your life, you will have been all of these. Actually been discussing this with my cardiologist for a couple of years now.
Covid has put a hold on any progress past talking.
The surgery can be similar to stent surgery which I had 10 years ago. Valves can be bio, pig the animal of choice or mechanical which last for your life time, but require blood thinners, which pig valves do not require, but they may require replacing depending on how long you survive.Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong, because sometime in your life, you will have been all of these.
