They still have a shot at the playoffs as of today so I am sure they will see where they are after this road trip. The rest of the games after that are against mostly playoff teams so it’s not going to be easy

No chatter of last night’s game?

I have to admit I had not slept much this week and fell asleep on the sofa at 9. I woke and went to bed at 11. By then I totally forgot the game was on late. Looks like it was interesting enough. Early lead blown but taken back to a tie right after they fell behind and then they scored the win late in the 3rd?

Exciting by the sounds of it and definitely shows solid team character.

I only watched the first period due to the late start. They came out flying in the first 10 minutes. A lot of the Kraken goals were deflections off players which Sogaard had no chance on - only one was a great shot, again he had little chance. It was only fitting that the winning goal was a deflection. Good character win for the boys and they are now in 9th in the conference and 18th overall. Pitt and NYI going to OT last night certainly didn't help them.

No and he's not buying it himself. He is currently part of the Remington Group bid and I would imagine it would be a minority share. I could also see him become part of another group should that group not be successful.

They don’t say how much of Mint Ryan had either but if I remember what I glanced at this morning it was possibly 25% and the deal was also not all cash.

Ryan’s doing fine mind you but I don’t think he’s rich enough to buy the team on his own and I think he’s also too smart to put all the eggs in one basket.

He was a minority owner in Mint. Seems he likes to own a piece of different businesses and then cranks up the advertising/marketing thru his media company. Smart guy. Probably too smart to tie up his whole net worth or more in a hockey team when he can make tons off of it with much less risk.

He did sell his stake in Aviation Gin a while back as well but again, nowhere near the $ needed to buy the team himself, which is not really his intention. This is as much as a real estate play as it is buying a hockey team as there is a lot of development (commercial and residential as well as a new arena) that will happen at Lebreton Flats when this is all said and done.

I think they are done. 2 of 10 pts on the last road trip where they needed to get at least 7. They are playing some pretty uninspired hockey of late, considering the stakes at hand. All part of the learning process I suppose.
