This is what Cathal Kelly was addressing.

Some NHL teams hold 'Pride Nights'. Some don't.

Some NHL teams that hold Pride Nights have their players wear Pride Jerseys.
      Some don't.

And on some teams that wear Pride Jerseys, some players don't wear them.

So does the NHL have an actual 'policy'?
      If so what is it?

It's odd they participate on military night when the bible says Thou shalt not kill.

Yeah but that was a long time ago, probably why he doesn’t remember.

Maybe Christians need a subset, they could be called “Convenient Christians.”

            • While the nails aren’t completely sunk on the Flames season, all are well set for the final pounding to seal it up.

At the game last night, going to Kings Tuesday. By then, could be irrelevant.

              • SPORTS James Reimer can’t wear Pride jersey due to Christianity even though Bible also bans working on sabbath, coughing up 3 goal lead to Bruins in Game 7

4 DAYS AGO by LUKE GORDON FIELD ( @LUKEMAYBEFUNNY )
SAN JOSE – Sharks backup goaltender and .895 save percentage holder James Reimer said that he wouldn’t wear a Pride jersey for 10 minutes during warm ups on account of the Bible’s views on homosexuality, even though the Bible also prohibits a lot of other things like losing a Game 7 in OT to the Boston Bruins despite being staked to a 3 goal lead with only 11 minutes left in regulation.

“I am choosing not to endorse something which is counter to my personal convictions which are based on the Bible, the highest authority in my life,” said Reimer while working on the Sabbath, wearing cloths of mixed fabric and doing a whole lot of other things banned by the good book, including letting in a soft Bergeron wrister from the point to tie the game with less then a minute left.

“I have to follow what the Bible says as long as it aligns with the anti-LGBTQ political stance the modern day Christian church has adopted and not all the stuff about loving your fellow man or covering up rebounds.”

The multi-millionaire Reimer has not elaborated why the small part of the Bible that condemns homosexuality (which numerous experts have claimed is actually a mistranslation of a passage condemning pedophilia) is more important than the parts suggesting rich people will never make it to heaven or that those who live in glass houses should work on their glove hand.

Nor has he indicated how wearing a truly awesome Jersey would violate his Christian principles. But religious experts have pointed out there is nothing more representative of Christianity in 2023 than condemning a group of people for their identity and then claiming to be the victim when criticized for doing so.

“I’m a Christian and I haven’t seen anything in the words of Jesus about not wearing a Pride jersey. I do recall him talking a lot about not just lying in the ice while Milan Lucic has the puck in the slot. But maybe that’s a denomination thing,” said Toronto man Asher Collins.

At press time literally no good hockey player has refused to wear the Pride jersey. SEE MORE: BIBLE, BOSTON BRUINS, BRUINS, CHRISTIANITY, FEATURED POST, HOCKEY, JESUS, LEAFS, LGTBQ, NHL, PRIDE, TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

                • Tampa is in an ugly mood and Bruins are loving it. 5 straight minors to Tampa just over 8 minutes into the game. Includes an instigator penalty from one of 3 fights that broke out on opening face off.

Wow, you seem to have quite the hate on for this former Leaf. Were you one of the hundreds who sent his wife death threats when he struggled in the playoffs here ?

Tbay is 3rd in fights this year, Bruins 10th. While not condoning that as a part of the game, these two teams are not just skilled , they will stand up for themselves. By comparison, Leafs are 27th.

Yeah stupid comment on your part but no that is something I wouldn’t even consider.
I wouldn’t have been adverse to the idea if they had brought him back as some backup insurance.
When did a Staal play for the leafs?

I never hate on players, It’s a hard game and I know they always try and play their best.

FWIW I was a big Jake Gardiner fan through his trials and tribulations here.

                          You trolling for something?

The team with the most fights in the league is Philadelphia, 17 points out of a wildcard spot, 26th overall in the league. Team with the least fights in the league is Carolina, 2nd overall in the NHL....

New additions to the leafs aren’t really known as fighters.
Wonder what it would do to the 27th place rankings if you added Schenn, McCabe etc?

The point was that the Bruins and Bolts have talent, skill and the ability to play a hard game when it's required.

Philly fights but has no talent and skill.
Carolina has excellent talent and skill and I think they are probably the best rounded team in the league outside Boston.....they are similar to the Leafs in make up, IMO

Canes were 2nd overall in points last 2 seasons and only won a round.....not saying fighting was the reason they underperformed, ( we dont see much pugilism in the post season) but having the ability to play hard, physical and heavy when the game gets nasty, as it often does in the playoff trenches helps.

I like the Canes to make a run to the conference finals this year, but then again, I thought they would past two seasons as well.
