The issue I have with this is that the accusation was made (I'm not sure if it was anonymous or not) on social media. Because of this they guy gets his name dragged through the mud. If he is guilty the nail him hard of course. However, it seems to be relatively easy to bring someone down via social media posts without proof/evidence. That is very dangerous.
I also agree the team is in a tough situation.

Would you not think the team did a little bit or research on this before acting. I think they must know a lot more than you and I . . . like you said, if he is guilty nail him . . . always better to wait and see what happen or more what they will tell us.

Why do the NHL owners still strongly support Gary Bettman?

            Sorry I misplaced the citation.

In 2004, Jaromir Jagr was the highest-paid player in the NHL at $11 million a season. There was no salary cap then. All these years later, Nathan MacKinnon is the highest-paid player at $12.6 million. No athletes in pro sports have been as underpaid, big picture, as NHL stars. The salary cap hasn’t done a thing for hockey stars but limit their value ... By comparison, the highest paid player in the NBA in 2004 was Shaquille O’Neal at $27 million a year. Steph Curry is the highest paid now at $48 million. Second highest-paid player in 2004 was Dikembe Mutombo at $19.4 million. The second-highest paid player in the NHL today is Connor McDavid at $12.5 million. The second highest paid player in the NBA today is Russell Westbrook at $47 million.

              For exactly that reason

The players get about 50% of the revenues generated by the league as a whole. If I recall correctly, the NBA and NFL have similar distributions of revenue. Hockey will never match the NBA or NFL in terms of popularity or revenue. However up to the pandemic the league was very healthy overall, although there are a couple of teams (Arizona for one) who were having trouble.

Been to the first two Flames home games so far and watched Saturday vs Oilers.

Looking pretty good so far. Kadri/Mangiapne/Dube are really firing on all cylinders Hubedeau/Lindholme/Toffoli still working out some kinks, but signs it is coming. Backs/Coleman/Lewis chipping in nicely on the scoresheet. Lucic/Rooney and Ritchie are pretty solid overall and making bits of noise here and there.

really fun to watch. It took a period to wake them up last night, but with 6 Knights penalties in the second, they really went back to dominating. Vegas overall just wasn’t very good last night at all.

The Captain Highlander/Stan Fischler uniform for the Islanders is 'hideous'.

The Sharks appears to be a 'tribute' to the California/Oakland Seals which I do appreciate.

Never liked the 'bear' logo for the Bruins.

As for Les Canadiens, why tamper with perfection?
