Let's face it....Mitch Marner is a legend in Toronto. If Mitch Marner had been injured in the carjacking, the Leafs would be done right now. In other countries, the punishment for messing around with a legend would be severe. Here in Canada, the criminals will probably do 10 hours of community service.

I say we punish the criminals "Canadian hockey style". Here is the proposed punishment:

1) each criminal is tied to a hockey net naked on ice.
2) Mitch Marner is allowed 50 slapshots from any distance.
3) only slapshots that make contact with the criminals will be counted.

Some of you will be surprised to learn Mariner is ranked 11th as all-time Leaf point leader (3 points behind Rick Vaive…will probably pass Vaive next week and enter top 10 as all-time Leaf point leader). Currently ranked 7th in most assist as a Leaf. He has already passed Wendel Clark, Doug Gilmour, Lanny McDonald, and Tim Horton.

Marner will likely enter top 5 as all-time Leaf point leader next year.

oddly, he might be the first player to score 1000 points in a Leafs uniform. Hard to believe they haven't had one.
