    Kent Brockman:
Ladies and gentlemen, what you are seeing is a total disregard for the things St. Patrick's Day stand for. All this drinking, violence, destruction of property. Are these the things we think of when we think of the Irish?
I can post this as my surname is unquestionably of Irish Catholic heritage.

One of my great Uncles was a founding member of the IRB.
Was the target of an assassination attempt by the anti-treaty group.

My Dad’s Mum was Irish heritage and catholic also. So Happy St. Patrick’s day (I have a great Aunt who would kill anyone who says “St. Patty’s” of consider putting dye in beer to make it green) to any of the other nuts out there celebrating.

That said it isn’t an event I’ve ever actually celebrated myself.

Mom’s family descended from Ireland, but the main reason I remembered the day was it was my parent’s anniversary.

I'm not Irish, a Heinz 57 of nationalities in our tree....

I do enjoy a Guinness or Stout but sadly didn't have a drop of alcohol to celebrate yesterday.
