Heard it discussed over the weekend about a potential spot on the European Ryder cup team as a Captain's pick because he's been playing so well.

Thought's about someone from the Champions Tour making a Ryder Cup team? I figure if he's hot going in why not he's one of the few that can still compete with the regular tour guys.

If I was captain, Bernhard would be an automatic and an inspiration to the entire team. He should be playing on the main tour.......!

Langer has had his own Sunday issue on the Champions Tour.

He'd be a sure fire pick if he was an American. Euro thou are all playing well.

The more I think about it the more I like the idea. There is always someone on every team that doesn't play that much so why not use Langer strategically in that situation and I think he would thrive in alternate shot and/or best ball situation *cough Kaymer cough*. Who knows maybe he plays in a singles match if he's really hot.

it would be a fabulous recognition of his game. We had Ballesteros/Olazabal for Euro and the potential pairing of a Langer/Kaymer would be a dream show for everybody.

I'm taking Langer over Poulter every time given the way Poulter is playing. I realize Poulter has been a RC beast but he just isn't playing well.

Not with standing your personal views on Poulter and Langer the facts will probably speak louder.
Current Euro Ryder Team Points have Poulter at 7th and Langer way down at 105th.

The fact is Langer isn't playing in many, if any, events that award RC points so your facts are kinda apples and oranges.

I say Langer should be picked for the following reasons:

- Human Drama/Redemption: To put the short putt he missed at Kiawah behind him
- Marketing: Add another story line to the exhibition to garner more interest
- Risk reward: Europe pretty much has the win in the bag. Rewards outweight the risk
- Strategy: Langer is a slow player. Playing him against impatient players like Bubba will guarantee to get under their skin
- Feather in the cap: Pairing him with Kaymer would make great story beyond golf. Germany winning the World Cup and the German dream team playing on the victorious RC team. How cool is that

BTW, winning majors does not make Rory the chair of the RC selection committee
