  • Arnold Palmer Invitational

Next up Arnie's Tournament, and Tiger is already setting the pace by being a clear favourite to win this one.

In the UK Tiger is at 6/1 with next best being Jason Day at 12/1, things are heating up and getting more interesting by the day.

Not a Tiger fan, not a hater either, but let's face it, this is really going to liven up the Tour big time.

Tiger playing another back to back, love it! I am very curious to see how he holds up. I don't expect him to win but making the cut and having a chance on Sunday again would be fantastic.

        Since it's Arnie's tournament, here's a story I hadn't heard before.

The Hickock belt was an award given to the best pro athlete in America each year, from 1950-1976. It was a leather belt with a massive diamond- and jewel-encrusted solid gold buckle. It was a really big deal at the time and athletes were very proud to win it.

At the ceremony in 1960, Roger Maris (the guy who broke Babe Ruth's record the following year) saw AP, and thinking golfers aren't athletes, said to AP, "wtf are you doing here?"

Later, when they announced the winner, and it was Arnie.

After accepting the belt and making his way back to his seat, Palmer turned to Maris and said "wtf are you doing here?!?

        Truly, a King!

Kinda weird that the "feature groups" tee off on the 10th hole on Thursday?

GC at 2PM, but Tiger will be done by then. That'll work for Friday's round.

Otherwise, PGATour Live subscription or sketch pirate sites?

Tiger's round will be done by then, but the Tiger show which will be shown over and over for the entire show.
Why? Because Tiger has won this event 8 times, including 4 straight, and by the biggest margin of 11 strokes.
The championship record however belongs to Matt Every at 264 all if IRCC.

Quite likely, and i want to see his round highlites, but once will do fine.
As a golf fan I want to see balanced coverage, we should get that today with Notah or whomever doung sime some Tiger stroking mixed in. I don't mind if they focus on a player having a hot round, a 59 watch etc, Thats interesting. will watch live coverage today, out tomorrow so it will get recorded and the ff button will get well used.

Do you like every team and every player in every sport ? Doubt it.

Its normal fan behavior and the nature of sport to have teams and players you like and dislike, teams and players who you cheer for and against. That happens every day in every sport in the world, on every sports forum . Polarizing figures such as Tiger, Phil, Ali, Brady, A Rod, Jeeter, Ovi ,Crosby etc have legions of adoring fans but also legions of sports fans who dont/didnt like them. It been that way for hundreds of years and will be that way for hundreds more.

If any of you are interested, a few of us are heading to WEGZ Stadium Bar to watch the golf this Sunday around 3pm....if Tiger is in contention (like last week), it will be a lot of fun! (we went to Jack Astor's last Sunday)
