  • Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions Preview

It is time to start the 2019 LPGA season. With 34 tournaments on the schedule (including the Solheim Cup), more prize money, and more television coverage, the 2019 season promises to be the biggest and best ever.

The season this year will kick-off with a brand new event: The Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions.

    Here is my preview:

Not sure what the payouts are but at 1.2 million everyone should get a nice start on the $$ list. Personally I think these types of tournaments shouldn’t count for this years monies. Just gives everyone a very nice head start.

They have been re-paired based on score, so Brooke is in the final group with Blair O'Neal (37 points) and Mardy Fish (39), the leaders on the celebrity side. [the celebrities are playing Modified Stableford] The penultimate group is Eun-Hee Ji (tied with Brooke at -6), Mark Mulder (37 points) and Jeremy Roenick (37).

That's a good start for Brooke. Let's hope she can keep it up.

Brooke had a lot of personal tragedy to deal with last year and it was very distracting. This year she has put this behind her and is dedicated to playing the best golf of her career. Certainly off to a good start.....!
If St. Andrews is the home of golf, Askernish is it's soul......!

One of the rare times when the lpga is televised; I’m looking forward to watch and they cover the celebrity guys as much as the ladies. Irritating as hell, Smoltz got more coverage then anyone else it seemed like.

Brooke's putter is letting her down missing two putts under 5 feet in the last 2 holes.

maybe it's the blaring music , apparently that distracts some people

                              Results: http://www.lpga.com/tournaments/diam...s?filters=2019

                              $50,225 for Brooke.

$180,000 to the winner, $14,906 for last place.

Also: Eun-Hee Ji (the winner) was already eligible for the Australian Women's Open (#28 on the priority list) and therefore this should free up a spot for Anne-Catherine to move up from 2nd Alternate to 1st Alternate.
