  • Adam Hadwin makes the President's Cup team

Just heard on the radio that Ernie Els named Adam Hadwin to this year's President's Cup team. Congrats Adam.

    Well done Adam !
Ernie also mentioned that Conners was also a strong consideration.

Good for AH his addition provides some incentive to tune in.....plus Royal Melbourne is a nice track

Unfortunately, the event is typically over before the singles matches .....last event it was brutal....19-11.

the only reason some results show respectability for the International team
( although there was a tie they did win once I believe but a long time ago ) is because the Cup had been secured and matches not completed were conceded.

Hopefully this year things are closer and Sunday means something

It's a nice exhibition but the PGA Tour's dream that it would become a rival event to the Ryder Cup is never going to happen. US players may see it as a way to show captains their team and match play skills but it's an audition for getting on the Ryder Cup.
Will tune in to watch how they play Royal Melbourne. It's design is ideal for match play with so many risk/reward holes. Imagine the Ryder Cup being played at Augusta and all the dram the back nine could produce. Melbourne is a similar layout. Fantastic course.
Great that Hadwin made the team.

Tiger just picked himself and Top 5 to the US team.

I hope he pairs Top 5 with Justin Thomas. Just realized Jordan Spieth didn't make the team.

I can't believe Kevin Kisner didn't make the team. Clutch putter.

US is so deep with talent and so there are Lots of deserving players who could have been considered and a case can be made for many. I like Kisner, a tough competitor. I think Kevin Na could have been a pick as well.

The US team should perhaps be using this ugly step child and relatively meaningless event as a means to fill a few spots with inexperienced players who will or have a good chance to make the RC....work on compatible pairings and using this as a dress rehearsal as much as possible.... unless something totally unexpected happens ( US team gets wicked food poisoning) the outcome is a formality and the real goal is winning RC....that said its quite likely all the players but Cantlay, Simpson and Tiger will be on the next RC team

We can only hope but ....wouldn't it be so much better if he were matched against Reed ( even Tiger ) ....

I don't expect this event to be close but do hope AH has a strong showing. He has a great, calm ( externally at least) attitude which should serve him well.

Yes I'll never forget how much fun it was watching Weir beat Tiger! We all know the USA will likely run away with it but having Hadwin there will at least make it a little more interesting...for me anyways.

                            I'd forgotten about that too.

Taking down Tiger, and on Canadian soil too.

Weir's career was kinda short and ended kinda quickly but this was certainly the "other" highlight.

Agree, that match will forever leave an indelible positive mark in not only Weir's but Canadian Golf History.

while I wont tune in much to the PC, I will try and catch Adam's play either on PVR or highlites...hope he has a good week
