Hadwin - Learn to play par 5's!!!!

-1 in four rounds and finishes @ -5. On 18 yesterday he doesn't go for the green in two, lays it up to 75 yards, then proceeds to plunk it in the water and double. A birdie & finishes tied for 7th....

Looked at those around him and the minimum they all were on 5's was -5.

215th on tour Par 5 scoring average.... The PGA is a fine line.

He needs to improve. Could have been a really good week.

Interesting that he was 31st in 2019 Par 5 scoring, 154 in 2020 and 215 in 2021... Trending the wrong direction. Cost him huge this week.

I'm still wondering when he's going to "learn how to play"?

He's a little guy ( 5 foot 8) small ( 165) who doesn't hit it far (149th) misses way too many greens (207th) and as a result isn't making birdies (148th) with a scoring average of 71.5 (137th)

So many good players on tour and His game is off . (not just par 5 holes.)

The point is with golf it is a week to week game for so many. This was the week if Hadwin was average on Par 5's, he would have been 2nd.

To double 18 yesterday from 75 yards cost him dearly.

Take a look at last week too.... He was -2 again on Par 5's....

It has been a very bad stretch for him.

Remember Zach Johnson won the Masters never hitting the green in two and was well under par on Par 5's that week.

Weirfan you can post all the other stats you want, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Hadwin is terrible on Par 5's and the last two weeks cost him major $'s/Fedex points.

So Round 2 on the North Course where everyone was 3 or 4 under he was okay at -2.

On the South here is what he did.....

75% Fairways (9 of 12 is fine). He was in position with under 100 yards in on all but 2 and made 13', 9' and 2'4" putt....
