  • Who is the best Canadian on the PGA Tour?

Just got in to watching a lot of golf during the COVID period and am totally hooked now.

Just want to get everyone’s thoughts on who is the best Canadian on the PGA Tour now?

The last big-time Canadian I remember on Tour was Mike Weir, so I’m probably showing my lack of knowledge on Canadian golfers there. Trying to catch up and make up for lost time though!

There are 3 IMO , but not a clear front-runner out of the 3
Adam Hadwin, Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes

Right now... the best Canadian on the tour is Mackenzie Hughes

Unfortunately Gligic is just missing a crap ton of cuts lately
Nick Taylor is playing well... only missed 2 out the last 10 cuts but cant get inside the top 10
Mackenzie Hughes too has only missed 2 out the last 10 cuts including 3rd, 2nd and 7th finsihes
Adam Hadwin has missed 3 out of his last 10 and cant crack the top 10
Corey Conners has only missed the cut once in the last 10 with 2 10th and an 8th finish.

Most accomplished Canadian still regularly playing on the PGA tour player, that depends. Nick Taylor has 2 PGA tour wins but Adam Hadwin has won the most money and been far more consistent in terms of cuts made.

Second that one. Mac is getting closer but inconsistently has plagued him. Either a good finish or down the road.

It is worth noting that, while Mike Weir hasn't had a lot of PGA Tour success in recent years, he turned 50 last year and has begun competing on the PGA Tour Champions and has been doing not badly (4 top 10s in 11 starts).

Awesome, thanks for the info Gentlemen!

So sounds like the 3 to watch currently are Adam Hadwin, Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes.

I’ve watched Hughes and Conners in a couple of tournaments, but don’t remember seeing Hadwin yet.

I’ve watched Weir a couple of times on the Champions Tour also and it’s great to seeing him playing at a high level and with confidence again! He was always one of my favourites to follow on Tour during his peak.

Missed the Nick Taylor mention too.

I was impressed by Mackenzie Hughes in the tournaments I’ve seen him in. He looks like he’s got a lot of potential.

What do you guys think is holding these 4 Canadians back from breaking through and being Top 25 type players?

Doesn’t Jason Kokrak have Canadian roots too?

Roger Sloan has been playing some decent golf, but just a few too many 75s and 78s. Not the top Canadian, though.

Interesting list. Seems like a group of guys with potential, but no one has broken out and separated themselves as the top Canadian golfer.

Looks like a great opportunity for one of these guys to reach out and grab the bull by the horns!
