  • No love for 2023 Players Championship?

I'm curious why no one seems interested in discussing this years Players Championship? We've got 2 Canucks on the leaderboard and there's been some amazing golf being played. Personally I hope the wind picks up and they tuck the pins on Sunday so it plays a lot tougher.

People are too occupied with politics, the Maple Leafs and other errata, although the 17th hole gets some traction. Canada is doing well and I'm hoping M.W. Lee can take down Sheffler. New blood is always good.

I watched for awhile Saturday but the soft greens (no ones fault) made it a birdie fest. I preferred the 2nd round when there were bogeys and more being made.
Mostly though, other than Scheffler, the leaderboard is very uninspiring. Also the course doesn't excite me.

I think if the course firms up and birdies become way more difficult that plays into Schefflers hands. If it plays like yesterday we might get a rogue player shooting 62 again and injecting life into the leaderboard. I just hope for a few players around the lead heading to 16. There seems to be so many talented young players on tour now.

Definitely Scheffler's tournament to lose. He's a proven winner and his game is complete.

This Lee kid is fun to watch, wouldn't mind seeing him win, has he dealt with that kind of pressure ? We'll see.

only 3 big names on the first page of the leaderboard Scheffler, Fleetwood and Im.

A couple others well back in Rose, Fowler, Spieth......likely too far back with the conditions not to be as yielding as yesterday.

Too bad about Svensson's blow up round, hopefully he can rebound and sneak into the top 10

Taylor Made needs Scottie to win after the week they’ve had. Collin back to the SIM driver and Rory being as vocal as he was about the Stealth 2. I’m going to check if he has it in his bag.

What does it not appeal to you? I loved it when I played there, one of my top five of all time.

Another ace on 17, that makes 3....never previously been more than 1 in the event

Apparently both Morikawa and McIlroy are not fond of the new Stealth 2 driver this week. Does anyone have any more tea on that development?

Tough to explain but I don’t like the look of several holes. 17 I don’t like either( I know that puts me in the minority). If I played it I might think different, but from what I can see on TV, doesn’t fit my eye I guess.

Max Homa just hit the flag on the fly with his tee shot on the par 4 12th. The ball almost ricocheted into the water.

                          Pretty crazy swing there.

What does Scheff's caddie say to him after that, if anything?

Bonus info - I just learned from the broadcast the Min Woo Lee is Min Jee's brother. Talented family.

Is it just me or does Scheffler not look on his game today? I mean he's likely to win due to attrition but he's not nearly as impressive today.

+1 for his round so far, while Homa and Matsuyama are -5, so we know it's possible to go low today.

He's still got plenty of holes to go, but that only helps if he's picking up strokes and not losing them.

The other 2 only have about 2 holes left to play, so can't eat too much more into his 3 stroke lead.

I think you're right about attrition, but you never know. Min Woo is still within 3 even after his triple. Anything can still happen - from back-2-back eagles to back-2-back triples for any of them. I guess that's why we watch....
