  • New to ClubLink...Course Recommendations Near Me?

Hey all, so I finally bit the bullet and joined CL this year. Joined at National Pines which is the 2nd closest, I am in Bradford (Bond Head is actually closer) and I am very excited. I know National Pines is a great course but I am looking for some recomendations/rankings of the courses near me. Ill obviously try to play them all (hell why not!) but some input/feedback be great.

Courses near me (i like having under 45min drive if ideal) and under 40-50km:
    National Pines
    Bond Head
    Caledon Woods
    Bethesda
    Country Club
    Station Creek
    Diamondback
    Emerald Hills
    Kings Riding
    Wyndance

***King Valley is on my to do list but is a Prestige so wont be playing it regularly, as is Rattlesnake***

Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing you guys out there.

Wyndance, Glencairn, Kings Riding, Diamondback and Blue Springs are in my regular rotation but I live in the west end. When I have reciprocal days I play Greystone, King Valley and Rattlesnake in that order.

About to pull the trigger as well. Toss up between CW and SC. Would love some feed back between the two, having only played the south once at SC.

                  CW:
                  Pros
                  - Lower cost
                  - KNow a couple members already,
                  - Enjoy the course/layout
                  Cons
                  - 45 min drive
                  - Less than ideal routing for walking
                  - No procatice facilities

                  SC
                  Pros
                  - 20 min drive
                  - 2 18s
                  - More likely to play men's nights meet new playing partners
-2 very walkable layouts from what I've read

                  Cons
                  -15% more expensive
                  - Don't know any existing memebers
                  - Unfamiliar with courses ( I do recall SC South 16/17/18 being very tough)

Anything I'm missing? Would love your input, as I would like to sign papers before the end of the week.

                  Cheers,

Based on the above I would say SC all day long. The two 18's, Practice Facility, proximity check all the boxes for you. Staff is great and the 15% higher cost may not be as big as you think if you factor in your travel costs to CW. I really like CW layout but it's location makes it a less likely play for me.

Also the SC Men's Night is really great ... rotating 9's and open Tee Sheet makes it easy to participate and meet new members.

                    Cheers,

+1 for SC...I enjoy the variety, courses are very walkable, tee times are pretty available, good range. CW is a good course but not a good walk and no range.

My ranking of your list: different tiers with a large difference between them IMO

                            top Tier:
                            1. Wyndance - easily the best of the group with a fantastic practice facility.
                            2. National pines- great course.

                            2nd tier:
                            3.country club
                            4.diamond back

                            3rd tier:
                            5.kings riding
                            6.emerald hills

                            4th tier:
                            7.station creek
                            8. Caledon
                            9. bethesda
                            10. bond head. ( south is a decent layout, North not so much, pace of play is horrific - hence the ranking otherwise id put it 6th in third tier

If i were in your shoes , I would play Wyndance and National 99% of the time. Kings Riding is 4 minutes away for me , Diamond back less than 10 so would sneak over over to use the range and when i wanted to get a few holes in late in the day.
