Interesting. I've been telling customers for years that the apex of a Tour player's driver and PW flights are very similar and I noticed on your chart that they are only two yards apart.

    Thank you

im a data guy so always find looking at data very interesting. What I bet a lot of people on this board can relate to is having higher swing speends than the average of LPGA, i do at least, but launch angles are around LPGA averages.
My 6 iron swing speed is about 86 and launch angle is around 17. Just by looking at those numbers assuming you hit the centre of the club lowering that number can create a substantial increase in distance.
Also looking at these numbers just makes you appreciate the spin. The landing angle between 3 iron and a PW is not that huge, but you rarely see pros holding greens they play on when hitting approach shots with a 3 iron.
Just shows how hard their greens are and how spin they need to hold greens.

I agree with this , I remember hearing or reading Mickelson talking about this.

He envisioned a box in the air that every shot would travel through, box stayed the same height but moved further away or down range for longer clubs.

Comparing Smash factor numbers is interesting as well...these are pretty close for both groups, lpga would seem to be pretty much optimized - and closer to my numbers
