Lengthening a graphite shaft

I need to make my 3 wood about 3 " longer than it currently sits. Am I able to put an extension in there and that's it ??
Any help is appreciated

Ps I bought the club for the head off of kijiji knowing the shaft was shortened, however I don't want to just trash the shaft if I can help it

I think they can lengthen it under the grip with an extension, I'm usually shortening mine so no personal experience with it.

You might be able to extend it 1" max but I highly doubt 3" without the extension breaking off.....im no expert but it seems excessive. most only extend 1/2" or 3/4"

I am quite sure that they would not recommend extending a graphite shaft by 3". Most of your left hand (if you shoot right) would be on the extension and it would be a high risk of breaking. I could be wrong but I've heard no more that an inch extension.

Particularly since you are using the extension on a 3 wood. Perhaps if it were a driver you could risk a little more, but with a club that is presumably going to get hit off the deck occasionally, you really wouldn't want to risk more than 1".

1" is the maximum recommended extension when done properly.

that shaft might have been trimmed improperly to begin with , so putting time and money in it is a questionable saving.

a modern standard length 3wood is about 43.5 .

I will drop into gt and get an extension and try that route.

extension/plug will work well for 3/4"
