  • Single Length Irons - Again

I thought I would mention that I brought in a set of the Single Length Heads 4 - PW.

    Not to re-hash the last Post ( http://www.torontogolfnuts.com/showt...ght=one+length )

I built them last night to my TLT fitting length for 62.5 Lie angle.

I did this because when I use my other clubs that are to my TLT specs my setup will remain the same.

I also used the same shafts / grips as the clubs that I will be replacing so my comparison will be "apples to apples" . For me, distance is not the important factor here it is consistency. Having said that I know my distances and this should be a good comparison.

It is an interesting concept, but I believe proper fitting is very important and TLT and Single Length may be a very good combo.

    I will advise my results.

If I may ask: are they all the SAME LENGTH or not ? TLT is not "SAME LENGTH", yes ?
    Thanks

Re: Single Length Irons - Again

Very interested in this experiment. I often have a fave iron or 2 (example love my 6 & 8 irons & the idea of a more consistent stance & length makes sense if it can give consistent distance gaps, performance etc.

      Looking forward to the results.

Same length. As he wrote, he's building them all to the length of his TLT club that has the same lie angle as the new heads.

Bryson Dechambeau? (with that Moe Norman style swing, and massive massive grips?)

Me too. I've wanted to try this for a long time, but didn't want to spring for a set of 1 Irons because of the limited options. I think I'm going to get some of the Pinseeker heads.

Yes, 4 Hybrid through PW are all at the same length.

They can be built to any length one desires. For example, if your favorite club length is your 7 iron, they can all be built to that length.

I built them to what would be my TLT length for 62.5 Lie Angle.

When I go to my 3 , G, S & L which are built to my TLT specs my setup will remain the same, only the distance from the ball will change slightly.

But how about the swing weight ? I am a very tall person, so if I wanted, for example, longer irons for couple of inches - can that be achieved so they don't feel so heavy ?

                  Cheers !

Sorry if i am rehashing this topic, but were these heads specifically made for one length type setup or are you taking standard issue heads and bending them & reweighting them to get to a single length setup?

would be interested to hear about accuracy and improvement in handicap as a result of this experiment. I have debated about single length and other schemes for sometime, but have been playing with standard issue off the shelf "made for most" clubs
