  • Should i lengthen my wedges/woods?

Hi guys, first time posting here and I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight into what may seem like a stupid question.

I recently bought a new set of irons and had them fitted to me. I'm 6'4 so they added an inch to the shafts. Lie angle is fine. My question is should I also get my wedges/woods lengthened an inch, or might that compromise their feel (particulary the wedges)? They are currently standard length/lie. I'm also concerned that if I don't get them lengthened I will have a large distance gap from the PW to my 56 degree. I also currently play to a 15 hcp if that makes any difference.

Any insight or suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks!

I lengthen my irons and wedges 1" - not my woods or hybrids.
Found the woods harder to control with extra length.

I would prefer to see you remain in a strong athletic address position - for every club.
Swing weight can become an issue, but would need to know what they are now? Most players your size can handle the added weight.

Stop golfing with your high heels and you should be fine.

I agree with Pingnut. All your irons should remain consistent whether it be Standard length or + an inch. Most drivers and woods are too long too begin with and I doubt you'd need more length in them.

But as always, talk to a professional club fitter to be sure. they'll give you the pros and cons of each.
