    Re: Osprey Valley

Just played Toot today...it was in great shape. Firm fairways, not a wet spot in sight. Greens were surprisingly quick and rolled relatively true. Saw one group all day

      AAAAAgh!

Current plan for Sunday involves cheering marathoners at Yonge/Lawrence then going for a ride up north somewhere.

I think the day may end with a round (or two) at OV.

If you go, we may meet: I'll be the old guy in spandex...

What course is currently in better shape? Hoot or Toot? I am trying to decide between them.

Played 5 rounds and barely saw a soul - pure golfing heaven - and to cap it off their all you-can-play deal was 1/2 price at $74 due to the opening season - even though the conditions and weather felt like it was mid-summer. My body is gonna pay for it tomorrow but you won't be able to wipe the smile off my face for days. Worked out to $15 a round to play 3 Top 100 courses - unreal.
Congrats on playing 5 rds! That is pretty spectacular. I am shocked they gave you the play all day rate for 1/2 price considering the spring rate is posted at $140. Do you think they charged you the one rd rate by accident or did they tell you it was 1/2 price? Either way, I am super jealous of your incredible day.

I think at the time Osprey were offering play all day for the price of a green fee. They're now back to separate green fee and play all day rates.

Used to be nice to book a twilight time, show up early and just go out. Could easily due 36 late May to early July.

Anybody know of any issues with getting out early now?
Within the last two to three years they have stopped allowing people to purchase the twilight tee-time until about 2:30 just to stop people from doing this. This is probably a further prevention for them.

                      Re: Osprey Valley

I showed up Saturday at 3:00 and managed to get in 40 holes by 8:15. Sunday was a different story as the place was packed, only played 27 holes. They had a long weekend special, play all day at no extra charge, they told me they were going to run the special every long weekend as it's typically slow. It must have had something to do with it being so busy on Sunday

                          Re: Osprey Valley

I played a solo twilight round on Sunday. I got there at 3pm and the tee-sheet for the hoot was wide open. However, after hitting a few balls on the range, a few groups showed up to the tee so I moved to the Toot instead. I had the entire course to myself and didn't see a single soul for 18 holes.
I'm glad to see they are starting to have some specials now; not to mention the photo contest they are holding throughout the year.

Do you need to book a tee time for Osprey in say June or July, or can you just show up at 7am for the play all day?

There no reason not to book a tee-time with them, but they really aren't necessary. I play there at least 10 times a year and never book one, I just show up and tell them I'd like to tee off in an hour, what course do you recommend?
