I will be spending 4 days in the KW area.
Any recommendations for good gold within 45minutes of the area?
    Thank you all

Grey silo and rebel creek is your best bet around kw.

doon valley and rock way are the city courses there. Rock way is short but I grew up playing it so it has good memories. Mo Norman started his junior years there too. I’d actually recommend if you can’t find tee times for the two I mentioned above.

45 minutes is a big radius for golf opportunities.
Grey Silo and Rebel Creek are the 2 easy recommendations.
If you're staying near the 401, you could get to Tarandowah in 45 minutes.
Innerkip is also always in great condition, Craigowan too.
I also like Savannah in Cambridge ( a bit tight ), Oaks of St. George, and Guelph Lakes ... all 3 happen to be designed by the same guy -> David Moote

Perhaps depending where exactly you are in KW, you are easily within 45 minutes of Copetown too - straight down Hwy 8.

So (for me) Grey Silo and Rebel Creek would be first up, as they are close and good, then Copetown Woods (one of our better public courses, just a bit of a drive for you), then maybe Savannah or Guelph Lakes or (also) Springfield in Guelph (short but sporty). Loads of options.

Craigowan just outside of Woodstock is the best track in the area with public access IMO.

For whatever reason, we lack a truly high end public facility in the area (a la Eagle's Nest, Copper Creek, TPC Toronto and the like).

I'd swap having every decent course being a 90 minute drive in traffic from downtown, vs an hour to TPC

I see we are missing Cambridge and Victoria East. Both are good tracks (Cambridge is a bit more interesting)

I'd take Vic East over Cambridge ( by a little bit, not a lot ), but both are good privately owned clubs with a strong membership, which usually means in very good condition.

Lovely, low-key patio at Cambridge too. Very informal vibe but, as you say, attention to the things that matter, such as conditioning.
