If it's anything like the Chick N Deli, they're still there, but they've aged...considerably.
I haven't been there in years. Sounds like a good thing...
Back to golf - I think I'd prefer to play Annandale twice for every round at Banty's. It might be preferable to take up another sport if those were the only options.
What's wrong with either of these... they're not the most interesting maybe but they're very well kept I'd say.
Yeah, I've only played Bloomington Downs once, a couple of years ago, but thought the course was in really good shape. I'm probably not the best course judge though, I love them all. I have yet to play a course I wouldn't play again if invited to.
Banty's Roost
Annandale
Scarlett Woods
Cardinal East
Camisle
Parkshore
Bloomington Downs
Richmond Hill
Lowville
Deerfield
...lots of courses I don't like!!
A HUGE +2 for me for Richmond Hill....terrible layout, quirky holes. I worked their as a junior, couldn't stand it and haven't set foot on that course in over 15 years.

Banty's by a mile. Camisle has sort of carved out a niche for itself by not professing to be anything but a goat track. One of those courses that's open year round with conditions and prices to match. Banty's seems to think it's a great course and charges accordingly while giving you the WORST conditions imaginable. The tee boxes are completely uneven and devoid of any grass. The few patches of grass that are on the tee boxes are long enough to be rough. No difference between 'fairways' and 'rough'. There are large patches of dirt in the 'fairways'. The 'bunkers' are laughable at best and the greens are brutal. Banty's should be walking away with this title easily.

I think they suck people in with their radio commercials who probably end up playing their once.
