  • Wedges - Glide vs SM vs T7

I am currently gaming Ping Glide Wedges and love them for the most part....especially the 54 (I dont always get along with the 50 and 58 however. I tend to use my Mack Daddy 3 PM grind 60 degree over the 58 Glide in most situations.) Being a nut I am always looking to try different stuff however. The other day I hit a few shots of my good friends Sm5 wedges....50 and 54 degree...They felt really really nice! I have also always really liked the new blue coloured Mizzie T7 wedges!

Anyone try the above three out? What are the favorite of the bunch among you and why?

buddy of mine has T7 52* & 56* with a sm5 60*, I wont speak for him but the grey face on the blue looks very sharp on the T7 and may help with alignment? He seems to like zuno more, but who knows

I picked up a used set of glides last year to give them a go. For me, they are the best wedges I've used and I've played many different brands

I have a couple of the original Glide wedges that I am very happy with. The 'Eye Sole' grind on the 58 in particular is really nice for a higher lofted wedge.

Re: Wedges - Glide vs SM vs T7

Last season I tried the original Glide wedges (47, 50, 54, 58). I found them very soft around the green and seemed to get through the thick stuff pretty easily.
This year I am playing the SM6 (46, 50, 54, 58). Not much needs to be said. They are Vokeys.

Overall, I found the SM6s to play better for full shots. I think it was more the weight than anything else. Felt more like my irons. I felt a little more confident with the Glides around the green. Most likely just a mental thing but I felt I could be more aggressive with the Ping because there was a sense of some forgiveness. Just my thoughts.

I did extensive wedge testing this season. For me the best were the Cleveland RTX 3.

I tested them all. If I had to rank em I'd go

            1) Cleveland RTX 3
            2) Callaway MD3
            3) TM EF Grind (the milled Grind wasn't out)
            4) callaway pm grind / sm6
            5) mizuno t7
