I once hit my 7 200 yards. True story.
It may or may not have been at shawnekees 12th with the massive drop...But I wouldnt think that would be relevant.
The PGA tour ave is 172 carry so there are a lot of guys here with tour swing speed or they are counting 10 yards of roll and career bests.
Everyone on the internet hits it 290.....some in this thread hit a 7 iron as close to my 5 iron distance. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I play with enough strong/long players to know that these distances are achievable by a very select group and know the ones who can on a consistent basis. I always find it amusing though when I tip it with them and they are either short of their target all day, or end up taking more club mid-way through the rounds as reality sets in.
I'll never forget a round I played with a TGN'er where he was consistently trying to hit clubs to yardages that were just mind-boggling....like a 9 iron 170 uphill type distance. At the end of the round he was completely deflated and I haven't heard or seen of him since.
My favourite was a round I played with a 4 hdcper in Myrtle Beach that pulled SW from 155. He skulls it in there to 20 ft, shoots 100+ for the round and then proceeds to tell us about his 170 yd PW shots.
I told him to quit posting his scores from the par 3 courses. He was not amused!!!
