I find it odd that we can post about breaking 80, hole in ones, eagles, etc. and everyone beleives them and congratulates them. But the minute you claim that you drove the ball 300+, the interrogation team comes out.

I'm afraid that if this continues, golfers who feel the joy of hitting that one rare amazing long shot, will have to keep it to themselves. They will go home and say, "Honey, I hit my driver 320 yards today. It was unbeleiveable!" Her response will be, "Did you remember to pick up the milk?"

Vij....I kinda a gree with you there but, I don't. I honestly think you're out of context. Posting a birdie, eagle, whatever in it's appropriate thread is accepted and celebrated because....wait for it.....that is what the thread is for. Those who have an issue with this threa is with the claims made because a) the swing video does not support (allegedly) the claim of bombing it 300+; and b) the claim itself is seen as fundamentally contradictory to the request for swing assistance.

Just as an observation, I don't think anyone will have an issue with anyone boasting they bomb 300+....as long as you let it go. "Geez man I tagged one on the nuts today and launched it into next week! Had some tail wind too but still.....it wen 340!!" This thread is much like saying "What am I doing wrong? There isn't a par 5 I can't eagle but want help on how make those eagles into albatross'."

I completely agree with P25 though. Kessly seems like an alright dude and playing a round with him would be fun.

I used to hit 340 yard tee shots all the time - with my 3 wood

Since the OP, we've added a serious tailwind and shaved 10 yards off a drive that "landed uphill and didn't roll much."

Oh well who cares.

If you want to hit irons better, good tips were given.

Not doubting you're a 280-300 hitter. A lot of 20-30yr old guys are hitting that with modern equipment. The 340 no rollout into uphill claim set the fire. Oh well.

Simply put, work on a consistent path and hitting through the ball with all other clubs. Fluid was mentioned, and to add i'd use more than just arms.

No hard feelings, but looking back on the first post, you pretty much set yourself up telling people that swing carried 340 into an uphill fairway. Even Bubba needs roll out to get there.
