  • Hello Golf Nuts

If this was a radio show, we'd say long time listener, first time caller.

This is a great golf community, valuable to golf course operators as well as golfers. It is always useful to know what golfers are experiencing and thinking, not just in regards to our own courses at Osprey Valley Golf, but also in terms of the industry.

Discussions that have started here have been taken up and continued at Osprey. So, we figured, why not let you know we're listening and interested in what you have to say. Questions, feedback, criticism, suggestions, greetings - it's all welcome.

Your first question might be "Who is this 'we'?" Osprey is a family business. My name is Andrew. I am a member of the family and a member of the board. We think we have a pretty nice trio of courses, but we also want to keep working to improve it and move towards its potential. We can't do that without focusing on providing the best golf experience that we can manage. And we can't do that without input from passionate people like you golf nuts.

That doesn't mean we can be all things to all people, but we should always be looking for the next step we can take to be a little bit better tomorrow.

Thanks! I will look into it, but I have a feeling I'll be 0/1 in the request department after this.

Welcome to TGN (and as a sponsor no-less!)

Hopefully we'll see some similar deals to the Underpar ones many of us snagged before Christmas!

                Cheaper taxes sound good.

I'm glad to hear you got in on that deal. As you know, that was pretty much unprecedented for us. The owners were moved by the Christmas spirit, I think.

There are no immediate plans to repeat it, but it was pretty popular, so don't bet against it. I can say that we are talking about some other programs that you may like, especially if you are a regular player.

Heathlands as an English pro told me one time - one of the greatest courses in the world - and nobody knows about it.

                        Thanks for the welcome.

Hoot is day to day, but will be open as soon as it is ready. I just wrote the Super to see if he was ready to risk a projection. Stay tuned.

Hoot update: if the weather holds up (forecast looks pretty good at the moment), we are probably looking at the end of next week.

We were hit hard by the ice storm at the end of March. You can imagine how many trees and limbs come down over that many acres. Hoot got the worst of it and the hours that have gone into cleanup alone are incredible. The turf guys are working hard and the Super wants to make sure everything is ready - for the sake of both the course and the players - before play starts for the season.
