i played with one guy a few years ago that was a pretty good golfer.

He was using a certain ball with a logo that i noticed right off the bat. On about the 5th hole he hits a shot that I see go under a tree.

While he's up looking for his ball, he walks past the tree and finds a ball with a clear line to the green. He yells "here it is" as I'm standing beside his real ball.

He takes his shot and I suggested that it wasn't his ball. To which I replied "the ball you've been using all day is right here."

he came back and picked it up and tried to tell me it wasn't his.

Then on the way home told me how badly he beat me. lol

he didn't get asked out after that.

- Moving the tee blocks to get a better angle around trees/at the pin etc
- Lining up for a sand shot without grounding the club, then brushing back the sand on the backswing so that the ball is nicely propped up on the downswing
- Going on expeditions into the forest and magically finding the ball in the one place where there's a somewhat clear look back out to the fairway/green
- Hitting the ball onto the next fairway and having the miss "be bad enough that I actually had a clear shot back over the trees to the green"
- A couple of really aggressive practice swings that clear the long grass enough to get a clear swing

and my #1 favourite...

- Finding that "lost" ball on a par 3 in the hole!!!!

Asking what their pro has them working on to correct (make up something) in their swing.

Or ask them "at what point in your backswing do you feel your wrists are fully-cocked?" The guy won't hit another good shot all day.

Just kidding. I actually love it when someone tells me my hybrid is a cheater club. I usually respond that the hickory shaft on their 460cc driver looks pretty shiny...

i play with someone who likes to pick up their ball as if to check if it's their's or not, then places it back down wherever they want

im a hypocrite though because if i get a really disgusting lie in the rough in a non-serious round i'll pretend theres a chunk of mud on it, wipe the ball on the grass and do the same thing ;P

golf with a bud - terrible golfer - gets really frustrated -- hits a 12 on a par5 - says it was a 6 - why - cause it's not his fault - he's doing everything right and he can't be blamed if the shots don't quite work out

Teeing it up anywhere on the tee block, because they can the blocks are just a suggestion
GUR in every trap when the sun is shining and it hasn't rained in 3 weeks
when a playing partner gives you the, come over here, is this casual water? as he is standing on top of a hill.....
People marking their ball in front of the ball and then replacing it in front of the coin. I always give them the same thing...You keep marking your ball like that, it will fall in the hole before you hit it.
Guy hits it into the trouble and as you are looking for a ball, you find one and they tell you it is theirs before asking what kind it is.
My favourite of all. Guy takes 8 to get it into the hole, stands on the green after putting out and does the count back to 5....
I roll the ball when I can if I am not playing for money or in a tourny......
