    Re: $100 Skins tourney

Are there any issues with your amateur status from this kind of a game?
Aim at nothing and you will hit it every time.

Tough to get $100 skin golfers to play what is basically just a family/beginner course.

The length is why I think it's a good venue. You don't need to be a bomber to compete.

Would love to know what you mean by family/beginner course.

It's a short course that is suited to beginners.

Tell me, how many people do you have signed up?

I'd be in if it was a $50 skin, just for fun. Wouldn't be willing to pay $160 for an event at a fancy executive course
            Taylormade R1 w/ Aldila Voodoo 10*
Cleveland Classic 15.5* w/ Matrix Ozik
Adams DHY 20* with Aerotech Steelfiber
            Ping S57's w/ S300 4-W
            Cleveland 588's 52, 56, 60
            Kenny Giannini G2 Chubby

None signed up yet. I haven't booked a date. Just trying to gauge the interest level for now.

Short course suited for beginners is accurate I guess, as long as people don't equate short with easy.

Because when I went on multiple occasions with a buddy who was learning the game, that is what we saw there; beginners and family groups as in Mom, Dad, Son and Daughter type groups. Actually this is very complimentary because beginners need courses like this, plus as I mentioned elsewhere; the range and the Henry B school, just perfect for learning the complete game, without them holding up golfers on full length courses.

IMO a few of the holes are drivable Par Fours, so I can think of a couple of guys I use to play with; who would be looking at Eagles on those holes.

As stated previously; with a bunch of unknown competitors people are not going to anti up $100 not knowing who and what the competition is with no HC in place.

Actually I'd rather put up $100 on lottery tickets that way I know I am going to get screwed but still have a chance at $1,000,000.

short course, minimal forced carries, You can pull;slice/duff; hit a fairway over and still birdie/par.

What do under 5 cap players think of this skins/venue idea?

I'm a 12 and even though the odds would be stacked against me to make eagles I'd venture in to participate but not at Bathurst Glen for $160.

that 'game' already exists at Harbour View (better track) on Sunday afternoons with Sonny & Peter....
Every great idea starts out as a blasphemy

it's handicapped & goes into a skins pool, but there are 'side games' if you want

This isn't a dress rehearsal. Enjoy yourself. There's no do-over.
