  • Titleist TS Driver Launch

I did a quick search on previous events, came up empty. Had the opportunity to test out the new TS driver and fairway metals from Titleist. It was a great day and a great product as usual. With a small increase in club head speed I was able to gain close to 8 yrds in distance.

i don't hit it that far to begin with but I'll take any length I can get. In terms of putting one in my bag, I think I'll stick to my current gamer(915) and work on my mechanics and see if I achieve the same results.

quite a few titleist guys had it in the bag there. I had a full bag fitting at the titleist fitting centre at eagles nest shortly after and the only info i could get out of them was its really fast, thin face(no grooves) basically R&D was told make something as fast as possible. looks promising.

Finally a Titleist driver that can keep up distance wise!

No faster ball speed but lower spin and higher launch = more distance.
The 2 is very forgiving and wants to go pretty straight...but not as attractive.
The 3 is great looking, more adjustable but less forgiving.

Titleist is also going with a 45.5" shaft in the TS line. Not typical Titleist whose drivers were always 45". I'd be surprised if the TS3 proves to be an improvement over the 917D3, which is the only driver that relegated my J715 to a back up role. The next hurdle would be, if there is an improvement, would the price/improvement ratio be worthwhile.
