  • Water shortages out west.

So been reading in addition to watching the 60 minutes episode about the awful droughts out west. Everything out west fed by the Colorado river is facing drastic cuts to their allotment.
Wondering how this will impact all those beautiful courses through California and especially Arizona moving forward. If peoples lives are being impacted, certainly it will be difficult to make a case to use the huge amount of water it takes to green up a golf course out there.
    Driver: yup..5 of those
    3 Wood: 'bout 4
    Hybrid: few..couple of tour issue
Irons: Too many but AP2 for now
    Wedges: Lots
    Putter: A016836

Never mind the golf courses- Think of the produce growers.

No, closing Arizona's golf courses would not alleviate the coming water shortage
"Even if [golf courses] were all shut down, it wouldn't make a dent in the Colorado River problem," said Kyl Center for Water Policy Director Sarah Porter.
"Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened "

Why does California not have a number of deslination plants? The Pacific Ocean is right there.

Nice - “Desalination requires vast amounts of energy, which in some places is currently provided by fossil fuels. Kiparsky warns of a feedback loop where more desal is needed as the planet warms, which leads to more greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, there are serious concerns about the damage to marine life from the plant’s intake systems and extra-salty wastewater.”
