Does anyone on here go on twitter? I though it was stupid but my friend was showing me all these celebs that have it. i went looking around and found like Ian poulter and some others. he puts some cool pictures up from us open talking about the par 4 500 yards

i think its really cool. there other golfers too and many other celebs. go check it

Yeah, during Mcilroy's interview with the press they asked him about it. Said he played a practice round with himself, Clark and Westwood. He hit the best drive of the bunch and still had 220 yds in. Just plain stupid to just throw length on courses instead of designing them differently.

I know that's harder to do with older courses and retaining the original charm that they have, but something has to be done. It won't be long until they actually play an 8000 yd event.

I follow Stuart Appleby (rarely updates), Stuart Cink, Ian Poulter, Annika Sorenstam. Ian Poulter has amazing updates with pictures of everything!

So big wup, he had to hit a 4 or 5 iron in.

A LONG(ish) iron to a par 4 in the U.S. Open

With 300 yard drives, and 230-240 iron capiblity, a U.S. open par 4 should be 500-550. (Not ALL of them, but a few).

411 for the 18th is looking pretty lame (not sure how it plays), but if it plays the yardage will be a flip wedge in.

USGA's own fault for letting the equipment get out of control.

Downhill Drive, fairway is consistently wide until bunkers. Very uphill approach shot. Tough green.

The US Open has a twitter account that they update regularly.

Also, they have a vote going on now where they willfollow three players during the tournament via Twitter.

I don't know what's more impressive, that power, the perfect divots, or the bags of what I assume would be all Pro V1s or V1xs... Beautiful.
