usually its one hop and then a stop or a small spin back that would be a standard 56* wedge which is about 95 yards for me...but really it depends on a bunch of things (course condition, green slope, type of shot)

From 100-70 it's PW using the clock positions for an almost always hop and stop. From 70-50, it's the 54*-SW and the 58*-LW from 50 in. All of this from the fairway. From the rough, tough to judge.

Usually on these shots I don't have to straighten up between marking the ball and fixing my ball mark.

Sometimes depending on how soft the greens are, I'll get some spin back but generally it's a hop and stop.

I think the ball rolls back more than most people think. It's hard to tell from 100 out just exactly what the ball is doing. I bet if you had a camera on the green many would be surprised at the amount of backspin they really get.

I had one today at RH. Hit my SW onto the green and my ball mark was about 6" from where the ball ended up.

It depends more on which course I'm playing than which club I hit in.

At Doon Valley, it's a hop hop and stop. At Oaks, if I don't arm swing it and take some spin off, it hops and sucks back 10 feet or more with wedges.

It really just depends on the shot I want to hit, the style of course, sometimes i'll let the ball release another i'll grab a lot of grass to hold it, or even grab as much as i can to spin it back.
