  • Retirement and Location

After bouncing off IT brick walls for 30+ years, I'm starting to think of retirement. I like golf (most days) and hope to move to a smaller home moderately close to golf courses of modest cost. I played King's Bay once and found it to be a nice 9 hole course, but the homes nearby are grand and out of my league. (One resident said he comes home from work and walks out his back door to the fifth tee.)

Any opinions on locations in the greater GTA for golfing retirees?

If you don't mind moving out of GTA, it's amazing how many courses are in the areas of Ancaster, Brantford, Cambridge, Guelph, Burlington, Paris, St George, London etc. which are to the West of GTA. From a base in any of these areas, you have easy access to many wonderful and reasonably priced courses. You can get a membership with Golf North which gives you member's privileges at all their courses which are spread around that area.

There are new and affordable housing development there as well as resales.
