I drove up to Timmins a few weeks ago. Fortunately the roads were bare and dry all the way up.

When I got there, I went onto a side street that was snow covered and sailed through an icy stop with my snows. Fortunately no harm done, but was a lesson learned on the need to adjust to the conditions, regardless of the rubber.
Indeed, but if you were Marty you'd still be sliding...sorry Marty!

No, Marty would have adjusted for the conditions. Of course, he wouldn't be getting to Timmins for another 3 days at that speed..

      Sorry Marty!

At least his snow blower has winter tires

            • I’m laughing with you boys by the way. But I am in London, England right now. Did you see the huge crash on the motorway here this morning? Reportedly 3500 cars stuck on a highway. Not all of them in the crash but I’ve seen video of the crash from surveillance cams and frankly at the speeds drivers were going it would not have mattered what tires they had on. They were simply going to fast for conditions.

Just so you know, being in London you are actually the latitudinal equivalent of being just north of Moosonee Ontario. Moosonee is at a balmy 51*27' latitude north, and in London you are at a frigid 51* 30' latitude north, almost 900 kilometres north of Toronto.

It's -12C there right now. They don't bother with winter tires. It's all about snowmobiles.

The nearest golf course to Moosonee is probably the one is Smooth Rock Falls, about 250 kilometers south of Moosonee. Probably does not open for a while.

Fortunately there are no rules limiting the number of golf balls you can carry during a match!

The nearest accessible course would be Cochrane . . . the train starts there.
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

We always get some snow in April.

                          • After more than 30 years of storing a car over winter, my experience is that we can get in Toronto until anytime as late as April 10 - 12. Won't stick around long if it does not melt on the spot.
