I have used it at my last 2 jobs. Fantastic piece of software. The editor can be a bit quirky at times but in general, it works flawlessly. I use the free version since I am under 2000 emails. It syncs nicely with salesforce if you use that otherwise you can import from excel, csv, etc.

I set up one template and use that and then just edit and replicate the campaigns. It allows you to subset lists if you like and the reporting tools allow you to see who's opened, clicked, etc. your emails.

The best thing is list management as people can self unsubscribe which is key.

Let me know if you have any other questions

      Great!

Also looking at the free service. We are a small family business, but the email marketing is important. We don't want to spend time creating and generating e-mails all the time.

The unsubscribe feature is important for us.

Is it fairly easy to export contacts from Microsoft outlook?

Been using it off and on for a few years.

Easy to use, easy to upload lists of email addresses, great stats and reasonably priced.

haven't done it directly, but you can export out from outlook to an excel file and then copy/paste that into MC. Once you have your list/template set up, you can create a campaign (i use replicate and then change some things) and I can send out a new email in about 10 min. You can also do a few and schedule them to send them out in a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, etc.

Best thing is, it looks professional and its easy and their interface is super easy to use. There are sample templates you can choose from to create your template which for people that aren't very good at that, are a great option.

Constant Contact is another industry leader that you should look at.

I use myemma.com. Probably all the same features of mailchimp. The one thing we are trying to figure out now is if email servers are smart enough to recognize if emails are coming from a bulk sending facility and blocking them before they get to the inbox.

I'm hoping that won't kill my e-mails as the majority of contacts receiving them are those we stay in touch with.

                  Re: Mailchimp review

We found Constant Contact a bit cumbersome and Mail Chimp a lot more user friendly. Using their paid model, we're able to completely remove any Mail Chimp logo and branding, and design the emails to match our own company brand. Helps that we're a graphic design firm, but Mail Chimp allows us to eliminate the need for HTML coding and still have professional looking email campaigns.

But the purists will argue that these free cloud-based services, including WordPress, are extremely dangerous and not secure. And they're probably right.
