  • on being old...

This from a recent Golf Central blog about Tiger's 34-year-old ex...

"She is currently dating Chris Cline, a 55-year-old coal magnate, and the couple recently moved into a house in South Florida together."

Oh, to be old and rich, instead of just old.

Some of us on this forum may not consider 55 to be particularly old.

True, but for that same group 34 looks awfully young.

Or tantalizingly young, or appeallingly young, or...

but a 55 year old coal magnate has charm and character by the million.
Maybe she just interested in diversifying her portfolio to include natural resources.

I don't think she is counting her chickens just yet.

                      Half Age plus Seven Years

55 year old with a 34-year old woman? About on the maximum difference according to the "half age plus seven year rule."

Does the half-your-age-plus-7 rule work? Does it reflect people's standards? Whether or not we apply it, we ought to know its strengths and limitations.

But what if she decides she wants to add some renewable energy plays? Coal is useful and cheap, but she might like something that can regenerate itself.

no luck involved. It is mutual resource exploitation at its finest.
