This isn't a dress rehearsal. Enjoy yourself. There's no do-over.

I undervalued Estrada coming into this season. I thought he would be a great bullpen arm who could be good for spot starts and starting depth, but I didn't think he'd be able to be this good as a starter. He's not a guy who will pile up innings, but his numbers aren't far off what he did in 2012 and 2013. It seems 2014 was the outlier year. He's pretty darn good. He's been a hell of a lot more value than I thought we'd get from trading Adam Lind.

Marcus Stroman is throwing off the mound at Duke today. He's tentatively scheduled to start a rehab assignment on August 21.

Gibby says that if he returns in September, he'll be used out of the bullpen.

Thanks...it went pretty viral today with some media people picking it up - not sure how long it'll stay up with MLB and MLSE copyrighted material. Would be nice if they let it stay though.

Does he need to be on the 25 man before Sept.1 to be eligible for the post season? Interesting decision if so.

Not if he's on the DL. Anyone on the DL on Sept. 1 is eligible to be put on the playoff roster, even if they haven't played a game that year.

It's worth noting that the minor league season ends on Sept. 7, so if anyone is hoping he can replace Hutchison in the rotation, it's unlikely they'd even attempt to build up Stroman's innings with only 2+ weeks of rehab. It looks like bullpen or bust for 2015. Still ... not a bad option to have.

Also, it sounds like Sanchez is going to drop his appeal, likely before tonight's game. He's not available tonight or tomorrow anyway, apparently. Gibby says there are "negotiations" happening, which ... well, I don't know, can you negotiate the length of a suspension without going through the actual appeal? If the suspension somehow gets reduced, Sanchez doesn't miss a game he would have pitched in. If it doesn't get reduced, it's one game in which he's unavailable that he otherwise would have been available for. Let's hope Dickey goes nine on Friday. (Or the bats explode.)

McCown just said on the radio that he's throwing on a flat surface, NOT from the mound and that he would be starting a rehab assignment on the 21st.

                          Also.....

Devon Travis is 'feeling better' but a timetable for his return hasn't been set. The Jays are playing it safe after the same injury sidelined him for almost six weeks earlier this season.....and Michael Saunders could rejoin the Blue Jays in September according to Gibbons.

Watching Hutchinson pitch is like watching drunk drivers speeding on a backroad. You know there'll be a horrible accident. It's just a question of time. He has no control of his pitches. It's scary.

Settling in knowing he has a little insurance. But I got that feeling in the first and second innings as well.
