For years I have been a curling fan, much to the amusement of family and friends, who regard the sport as boring. Unlike them, I enjoy the startegy and tactics of the game. It would appear that I am not alone.

Re: Curling's Popularity
Yup, curling helps me get through the winter. I curl twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday night. What's great about curling is, most of the members at our Club are the same members at the Golf Club. Curling is a great excuse to get out of the house and socialize and have a couple of beers with "the boys".
Curling is also a great sport to watch on TV, now that the skips are "miked" and the audience can listen in on their strategies. They are always thinking 2 or 3 shots ahead.
I was telling my wife the other day, that watching the ladies curl 30 or 40 years ago, they were lucky to make a hit and stick around in the house. Now they are making double run backs and angle raises like there's nothing to it. The Women's Scotties have come a long way.Ping G425 Max 9* Driver, Tour 65-S

Re: Curling's Popularity
Love curling. Converted my household to love curling as well.
My favorites is Scotties.
Been a huge fan of Sandra Shmerler ,R.I.P.
The game is great, but the added element is the people, who are
all so great, genuine, likeable not big headed. Curling is as much about getting out and having a good time, with people you like, and that comes through in all the events.
I always want them all to finish first, no losers.
