You're another of the not so fine crowd, I see. If I stumble across a solution, I'll let you know.

    PITA for sure
This isn't a dress rehearsal. Enjoy yourself. There's no do-over.

      Thanks
I've googled solutions for this and checked out some Apple chat sights and some seem to believe that a fix should be coming soon as it is becoming a more frequent issue for many users regardless of device

I upgraded my iPhone 6 and it's been great. Battery life improved drastically. My little guys iPod touch 5 is all good except FaceTime didn't want to work. We got that figured out and it's been good since. I've read about iPad mini issues so I've held off on the iPad.

Haven't had any problems worth noting with my 6. I actually think it is a really good upgrade.

It's interesting that their universal OS appears to work great on some of their products like yours, while they ca be quite bad on others. Why would that be?

                Re: Apple IOS 9

iOS upgrades always require more hardware performance than their predessors.
I would hesitate to upgrade to iOS 9 on anything older than iPhone 5 or iPad 4.
Most of us really don't need the new features.

I upgraded my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5, but not my wife's iPad 4. I really only upgraded to try it, I don't really need it.

It caused a problem on my 711 sim in the iPhone. This was fixed by 9.0.1.

You mentioned email issues. I connect to two email servers. One is Apple (my @mac account) and the other is my own mail server). I don't use gmail or Yahoo for mail.

I'm not sure what other problems you're having.

Whenever there is a new operating system release (regardless of device) the interweb goes crazy with 'this release sucks'. I'm sure that there are legitimate issues but I find that many complaints are from people who upgrade without verifying that their existing apps will work with a new OS or that there devices will support it.

The biggest thing is that when I have a problem with an Apple product, I don't go online looking for a solution, especially in a golf forum. Every issue is different. I make an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. If there is an issue with the new OS, they need to know about it so they can resolve it. If the issue is with your specific device, they should be able to provide a solution.

I agree. I've used the analogy of putting a Porche fuel injector on a '76 Cadillac with my parents to make them understand they don't need to update asap each time.

My iPad Mini is a new replacement obtained relatively recently from the Apple Store in Newmarket, so I would assume that your analogy doesn't apply. It's still experiencing problems. It's too early to tell whether the latest update (9.0.1) will improve things.

                          Try 'Reset all settings'.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings

My kids FaceTime or iMessage wouldn't work after the update and this worked. Maybe this will work for you.

Can I ask why you're not dealing with Apple, especially if it is a replacement device. The replacements and refurbished products are pretty good but they are not 100% immune from problems.

It's quite simple. I've been sick in bed for more than a week. It's easier to deal with it here. Secondly, my extended warranty coverage is over. In short, I am a pragmatic lazy man.

You can speak with a Genius even if you are out of warranty.
