They're supposedly juggling the D lines for tonight's game - hopefully that does something!

The Reilly-Zaitsev line keeps getting lit up. :-(. We're only 1 pt out of 8th spot with a game in hand on NYI and Tampa... There's still hope! :-)

(*note* we weren't supposed to make the playoffs this year; if we do, it'd be a bonus...). That being said, who do you trade then for next year?

I know, right? lol.

Actually; what I thought was interesting was Babcock putting Marner and Matthews together for a period the other day against Florida...

They didn't really seem to generate much, which I found kind of odd considering Marner's a winger that plays like a center in terms of making passes/plays and Matthews has more of a shooter's mentality...

Oh well - hopefully they get it together for tonight's game...

Looked like Zaitsev had a bad blade/lost an edge/ bad sharpening. Blew a tire twice on one shift. Went to the room immediately after that.

Jake Gardiner is now +24. Second on the team is +8. Rielly is -23 (worst).

I know Morgan gets the tougher matchups but not sure this equates to a 47 point +- differential? Gardiner's giveaways are the same as Riellys essentially (67 vs 66).

It's a crappy stat I know but he's too much of an outlier to simply chalk it up to that?

What a game tonight. Back to back hard playoff style games and 3 points out of 4 against two pretty solid teams. Really enjoying the 2017 Leafs and hoping we make something out of this run.

Marner the magician continues to impress.

Maple Leafs this year has been worth following the young rookies Marner, Nylander and Mathews doing well. I'm confident we will stay ahead of the Islanders and TB for a playoff berth

As a noted Bozak "hater" in the past, I must admit he's having a great season. Particularly of late as the rookies have had stretches of inconsistency in point production. He's finally been put into a role he fits into - as a 2/3 guy as opposed to a 1C, which he never was IMO. He's excelling in this role, much like Kadri is in his.

I've arrived at the same place, from the opposite direction.

I've been a longtime Bozak "defender" of how he's been forced into a role that he just didn't have the skills for. He's pretty much where he should be now and it's working. He's always been able to support good players (Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Marner) successfully and to get production from any line.

I've been a longtime Kadri "skeptic". He had the goods, but it was questionable whether he'd ever be able to live up to the promise. He too, has now been put in a great role for his skillset and is looking great.

I think it's all because of the new kids. We've got more of the right supporting cast around them so they can be put in those roles.

Best news is that neither is in the discussion for #1C any more so that old bunfight can come to an end.
